Huawei IDEOS X6 is mid-tier Android phone and recently a section on XDA was dedicated to this phone’s development and hacking. In my opinion, the phone emerged quite victorious in a market ruled by HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and LG. The IDEOS X6 came with AOSP Android 2.2 Froyo on board and due to the fact that not much exposure was given to this phone on Android forums and portals, there wasn’t noteworthy development. As soon as the phone acquired a dedicated section on XDA forums, we can see that developers are emerging for this phone. MIUI custom ROMs are the most favored custom Android firmware when it comes to aesthetics, usability and stability. And recently this ROM made it to X6!

Access & Manage Android Certificate Authority Keystore With CACertMan
In technical terms, keystore is a storage space on your computer (or smartphone) reserved for all the digitally signed security certificates and their relevant information. Using valuable information from this keystore, your device (or rather the browser) learns whether a specific website that is being visited is safe (trusted) or not. Android OS has its own Certificate Authority keystore (located in /system/etc/security/cacerts.bks) where all the information pertaining to security certificates is stored. Accessing the Android keystore is not easy but thanks to the efforts of XDA-Developer’s member remzicavdar, now we have CACertMan - an Android app that not only lets you access your (rooted) Android’s Certificate Authority keystore but also lets you manage various certificate entries stored in it so that you can always surf the web without any safety concerns. How To Share Files Between Windows 7 And Windows 8 In Dual Boot
When you dual boot Windows 8 with Windows 7, you are likely to end up willing to use many of the files which are located within your Windows 7 user directory (e.g. Administrator account). Although these files can be accessed manually, doing so is both tiresome and time consuming task. Copying files to the Windows 8 user account can be one way of solving the problem, however that will simply waste a lot of disk space. Moreover, shortcuts from within the Windows 7 user folders can make it confusing to manage both Windows 7 and Windows directories.

Stream Free Music Playlists On Your Windows Phone Mango With 8Tracks
Music is an integral part of many people’s lives. Even now, while writing this post, I have Evanescence blasting away on my headset. If you yourself are fond of music and own a Windows Phone 7, then life just got better for you (or will, once Mango rolls out). What music lovers hate most about WP7 is that it lacks the ability to play music in the background while using a third party app. Mango finally resolves that issue by bringing true multitasking to Windows Phone and letting third party apps run in the background. For music, 8tracks becomes the first app to take advantage of this Mango goodness. 8tracks lets you listen to playlists pre-loaded by the users on the app’s website and the tracks can keep playing while you navigate anywhere on your phone!

How To Keep Ribbon Minimized In Windows 8 Explorer
The Ribbon Explorer in Windows 8 includes most commonly used shortcuts in a ribbon, like copy and move to user library, remove properties, hide file name extensions, etc. While this may come handy to find Explorer options more easily, it has been considered as an obstructive inclusion to Windows Explorer by many Windows 8 users, as it consumes a lot of space of Explorer Window. What might be more convenient is to keep this ribbon minimized until needed. In this post we will provide you with a quick tip to keep the Ribbon Explorer minimized by default.

Bandwidth For WP Mango: Keep A Check On Your Internet Connection Speed
A smartphone without an internet connection is like a flower without fragrance. We have become so dependent upon internet that our real life has become completely entwined with our online life. Almost 90% of the apps on my Samsung Omnia 7 require (or at least can use) internet connectivity. Windows Phone 7 makes full use of the web, and if your net is not working properly for any reason, things can get really annoying. Bandwidth can not increase your download or upload speed, nor will it magically make internet connectivity available for you. The app will let you diagnose the problems bugging your network, thus making it more efficient. Bandwidth can also prove to be the perfect solution for some cursory network troubleshooting. The Bandwidth app has been around for quite a while in the Marketplace, but its new Mango-fied version adds some noteworthy and new features which we will be discussing after the break.

How To Enable Windows 8 Hibernate Option
Hibernation is a feature of an operating system which allows the contents of RAM to be written to the hard disk, before powering off the computer. When the computer is started again, it reloads the content of memory and attempts to restore to the same state as it was before shutdown. For example, if you have 5 documents open before hibernating, the system will resume with the same documents opened on your desktop. In other words, your system will resume from where you left it. The Windows 8 has come with a lot of changes which users are finding a bit annoying.
