Fresh to the Play Store, Swably (Beta) is a multipurpose Android app that can best be described as an innovative app sharing social platform which allows users to discuss the latest apps and games with each other, share their thoughts about their favorite apps with like-minded users, upload or download free apps to or from Swably servers, post app reviews, and discover some of the best apps available in the Google Play Store. Besides serving as a handy alternative app discovery, sharing and discussion platform, Swably claims to be the ‘first and only community’ that lets developers interact directly with the users. Regardless of the authenticity of these claims, one thing’s for certain, this Holo-themed tool is an ideal way to bypass all the junk apps cluttering the market. Not only is Swably equipped with all the necessary socializing tools – sharing, commenting, following, bookmarking and liking etc – but also lets you natively launch and uninstall apps as required.

It must be mentioned here that only registered user have access to the app’s features. In this regard, you have the option to log in to the app using your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ account. As quite strictly stated in the app’s terms and conditions, you cannot upload paid apps unless you’re the owner.

The app’s Home screen is split into three different tabs: Everyone, My Reviews and Following. It’s from under the Everyone tab that you can keep an eye on the live feed of activities taking place among worldwide Swably users. You can find out what apps are being talked about the most, what updates an app may have received, or just express your thoughts about a particular app. As with most social apps, you can tap a user’s avatar to view the complete feed of their activities and user profiles. Moreover, you may check out their followers, app reviews, the apps starred or claimed by them.

Tapping the dropdown arrow at the bottom-right of a post, you can reply to it, download/launch the app in question and share the app with your friends. Tapping the app title, you may check all the reviews that it has raked from Swably users. In addition, you can view brief info about the app, claim it (in case you’re the developer), and check out all the users who may have starred it. Tap the message itself to view the entire conversation thread and add your own thoughts to it.

Hit the menu button in the top-left corner to navigate to other sections, such as the Settings screen, the list of Apps installed on your device, and People whom you’re following or can invite to Swably. From the Apps section, you can view all the starred apps, as well as the apps installed on your device. In case an app has already been submitted to Swably, you can hit its title to view its reviews, star ratings and info. If it is yet to submitted, Swably lets you upload it so that you can share your favorite apps with the entire community. Similarly, if you stumble upon an app of your linking, you can download it directly to your device from the Swably servers.

Just a reminder, unless you’re the developer, you are not allowed to upload paid apps. For cases where these terms are violated, Swably lets the developers claim their apps.
