Editor’s Note: Apple Magic Trackpad is a wonderful device that is only restricted to Mac OS X. If you plan on using it on Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit), you will have to follow the long hectic process of downloading and extracting Bootcamp patch, finding and renaming Trackpad Bin file to .exe format and finally installing the driver. Rather than following this difficult process, we have hosted the Trackpad Windows drivers for you at the bottom of the post.

Now that you have Apple Magic Trackpad running on Windows 7, you will be disappointed to know that the default Mouse properties is almost useless. In short, you cannot customize the speed or gestures of trackpad in Windows. This is where Magic Trackpad Control Panel comes in. It is a brilliant tool that allows you to set the tracking speed, double-click speed, and scrolling speed of the trackpad, and can be used to change both one finger and two finger gestures.

Under One Finger Gestures, you will find options to enable/disable Tap to Click, Dragging, Drag Lock, and Secondary Click. You can choose Bottom Right Corner or Bottom Left Corner position for Secondary Click. Under Two Finger Gestures, you will find options to enable/disable Scroll and Secondary Tab.

To start using Magic Trackpad Control Panel, first download the controlpanel1.zip file from the developer’s page and extract it. When done, open padset-0.3.exe file and then finally open the Trackpad Control Panel file in the same folder. It will launch the Magic Trackpad Control Center. When closed, it will sit in the system tray and can also be launched at system startup, with or without being minimized.

We have tested every option of this app successfully on Windows 7 64-bit OS, so we can confirm it to be working. If you face any issue, do let us know in the comments.

Everyone in the smartphone world has been talking about NFC as of late, but what exactly is it and how is it significant to you, the end user? NFC stands for Near Field Communication and is all set to change the way we exchange information while on the go. In this guide, we will go through a detailed tour of this technology and how it is going to impact our lives.

NFC is a short-range communication technology that enables devices to exchange information with other NFC-enabled devices or certain NFC supporting cards, much like the way a card reader scans and reads a credit card. This has several obvious practical applications already developed and in use in some countries, most notably Japan. Furthermore, NFC is an open standard and therefore, there is plenty of room for innovation of further applications not yet developed.

We will now take a closer look at how NFC works, what benefit it carries over other short-range wireless communication standards, what are its practical applications and what lies in its future.

How NFC works

Before we move on to its applications, let’s take a look at how NFC works, without getting into technical details. You basically put the back of an NFC-enabled device against either the back of another NFC-enabled device or an NFC-supported card, and the device automatically recognizes it, showing a prompt on screen to read or write information to the device – it really is that simple.

Technical Specifications

NFC is an ISO 18000-3 RFID compatible short-range point-to-point communication standard governed under IEC and ISO specification 13157, amongst others. It operates on a frequency of 13.56 MHz and supports data transfer at a relatively slow rate of 424 kbps, though future improvements will most likely increase this. It has an operating range of under 20 cm and takes less than 0.2 second to establish the connection. Power consumption during reading the data is under 15 mA, though it can be more when writing data.

Benefits over other wireless communication Standards

Why use a whole new technology, one might ask, when we already have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth etc. that we can utilize for the purpose? The answer: convenience and security.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi communication has a broader coverage than NFC, often ranging between 1 meter to 100 meters. This can lead to two problems. If the devices are set to accept connections without authentication, anyone within this range can connect to them and access the information stored on the other device, creating a major security issue. While this security concern can be addressed by requiring a password for establishing the connection, this leads to another problem: pairing the devices securely using Bluetooth or establishing a secure connection over Wi-Fi involves navigating through the device settings and entering passwords, which takes away the convenience factor.

NFC addresses both these issues by requiring close contact between the devices to allow information exchange, and automatically presenting the available options on the screen for the user to select. Thus, a dozen people with NFC-enabled devices can be in the same room with no password set for NFC communication, yet none of them would run the risk of any unauthorized information access via NFC.

Current Practical Applications

We have seen what NFC is about, how it works and what benefits it carries over other short-range wireless communication technologies, but what in what practical scenarios can NFC be used? There are plenty, to be sure!

- As an RFID Tag Scanner

An NFC device can act as an RFID tag scanner, reading information embedded in form of RFID tags in media such as posters, billboards, brochures, leaflets, menus and other similar promotional or informative material. An example of this would be visiting a restaurant and scanning the menu card by touching your phone or tablet to it, to be presented with the link to an interactive, animated menu on your phone, with detailed descriptions of menu items, their reviews by other users and perhaps even videos of their preparation.

- As a Debit/Credit Card Substitute

NFC makes it possible to replace your plastic money with your phone. Once the information that is usually carried in your credit card has been stored in your phone and made accessible via NFC, you can simply touch your phone to a terminal the way you scan your credit card, and make payments accordingly. This can make mobile ticketing and payments a breeze.

- For Data Exchange

Two NFC-enabled phones can be made to exchange data after establishing a connection by bringing them within NFC’s operation range. This can replace visiting cards, as you’ll only need to touch your phone to that of someone else and your virtual business card can then be transferred to their device with one tap on the screen. Sharing photos and other media on your phone with others gets similarly easy.

- For Bluetooth Pairing or WiFi Authentication

Pairing two Bluetooth devices to establish a connection involves navigating menus to enable Bluetooth, scan for a device, initiate pairing and enter the pass code on each device. With NFC, you will just need to bring the devices together to be automatically prompted to initiate Bluetooth pairing by a tap on each screen. The same can also apply to establishing a secure Wi-Fi connection.

Future Prospects

Apart from the above-mentioned applications of NFC which are already implemented and in use in certain regions of the world, the future prospects of this communication standard are also bright. Let’s take a look at some of the ways NFC is bound to play a part in our lives in the years to come.

- Personal Payments

In the not-too-distant future, NFC will enable you to give your daughter her pocket money simply by touching your smartphone to hers, choosing to transfer money and selecting an amount, which she can spend by using her phone as her debit/credit card substitute at the café, as explained above.

- Keyless Security

Your NFC-enabled mobile device will act as the key to the locks on your car, your safe and your house. Though to ensure no one else can use your phone to gain access, NFC will only act as initiating the unlocking mechanism, which will have to be verified by facial, iris or retina recognition by your phone’s camera, voice recognition by its microphone, fingerprint scan by its touch screen or a combination of these. The result would be secure, keyless access to your vehicles, safes, workplace and dwellings.

- National, International and Corporate Identification

NFC-enabled devices will be used to store to replace your social security/national identity card, drivers license, employer card and passport, with added security measures in form of biometric scanning.

- Social Networking

People will use NFC to exchange personal information with others in social interactions, as well as form personal social networks to share location-based information such as opinions and reviews of others on a business or recreational venue. You can leave your opinion of a place at an RFID tag and other visitors can read it, as well as those left by others, with their NFC-enabled device. NFC-based check-ins at locations can also be used to reward people and offer them services accordingly.

- Entertainment

NFC will make playing multiplayer games with someone a breeze, as you will be able to initiate the game simply by bringing the devices close together.

- Health and Public Safety

Doctors will be able to use NFC to scan their patients phones for live health statistics such as pulse, blood pressure, body temperature etc., which will be gathered by the patient’s device using certain censors. Thus, without directly scanning the bodies of patients and having to keep records of hundreds of patients in their devices, doctors will have quick access to such vital statistics in order to treat them better. This can come especially handy under medical emergencies. Furthermore, patients will be able to use their devices to convey their medical situation at hospital receptions, to be more efficiently and quickly directed to the appropriate department.

The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is the successor to the original Arc Mouse with a new sleek and flexible design. The most prominent change is the use of touch to scroll instead of wheel and BlueTrack technology which allows it to be used on any surface. Check our full review (and giveaway) after the jump.

Design And Basics

The first thing you will notice about Arc Touch Mouse is the unique design. There are no buttons to switch the mouse on or off, you curve it to turn on and flatten it to turn off. This is a good thing since users who want to carry the mouse around don’t want to move that pesky little button under the mouse to switch it on or off repeatedly while travelling.

Since the design is new, it takes some time getting used to. The touch to scroll is difficult to handle in the beginning because we are using scroll wheel for almost a decade. Using it on a hard surface is easier and the grip is stronger when compared with soft surfaces. People with large hands will find it a bit challenging to use due to its small size. After playing around with it for 3 days, I am perfectly comfortable with it. Check out the size comparison below with HTC Desire HD.

The mouse runs on 2 AAA alkaline batteries which can be inserted from the bottom of the mouse.

There is a small magnet below the mouse where one can attach the USB Receiver to ensure that both the mouse and receiver are in the same place and ready to be used anytime. The USB Receiver is tiny and if you are carrying your laptop around, you can let it stay plugged in (like I do).

Microsoft Arc Touch mouse is the first travel mouse that can actually fit in all pockets due to its flat size. The design also makes it lighter than other mice.

Usability and Performance

When you first plug in the device, it will automatically install the driver. It works on Windows XP (32-bit only), Windows Vista (both 32-bit and 64-bit), and Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit). The sensitivity will be a bit higher and can be changed from Mouse Properties (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Mouse).

Don’t expect it to replace your desktop mouse. The performance and options that come with a desktop mouse can’t be found in Arc Touch. However, if all you need is some basic functionality then you can use it as a desktop mouse replacement. While testing, it worked seamlessly on different surfaces, carpet, tables, floor, and so on.

The middle click button is still there and can be used by double tapping the middle touch scroll. If you are one of those people who eat and browse at the same time, forget it. The plastic becomes slippery and difficult to use with slightly wet or oily hands. This is the second major downside, the first being too small for large hands.

The great part is that Arc Touch is not a racist, it is made for both left and right handed people. So if your co-worker or friend needs to show you something and is different handed, then this mouse will do the trick.

MS Arc Touch Mouse vs. Apple Magic Mouse

I was reluctant to touch this topic because of Microsoft vs Apple fanboy flame war, but many people have asked us how they compare. In short, they don’t. Comparing Arc Touch with Magic Mouse is like comparing Turtle with Tortoise. Both are nice but have a very different purpose. Arc Touch mouse is a travel mouse (which you may use as a desktop mouse), while on the other hand, Magic Mouse is a desktop mouse (which you may use as a travel mouse, if you wish to).

Conclusion

Pros: Compact, sexy, lightweight, and an all-round winner when it comes to portability. The movement is surprisingly smooth, making it a must-have travel mouse for web designers.

Cons: Difficult to control in the beginning, small for large hands, and buttons are slippery with slightly wet and oily hands. Not good for gaming (OK, this is not a downside but still).

This excellent video guide was shared with us by XDA-Developers forum member connexion2005 who demonstrated the entire process with very easy-to-follow instructions that enable even novice users to install a front facing camera on their Samsung Vibrant.

The reason this method is so easy is because unlike some other carrier-specific versions of Samsung Galaxy S series phones, the Vibrant’s entire hardware structure is entirely the same as that of the Samsung Galaxy S I9000, including the housing area for the front facing camera, despite its lack. Even the hole for the camera is there; Samsung simply decided to cover it with black paint from the inside when they chose not to ship the Vibrant with a front facing camera. Thus, this guide is essentially all about removing that black paint and replacing the single back-facing stock camera with a dual one that has a front-facing lens in addition to the back-facing one.

In the end, it’s all about whatever gets the job done. Enjoy using your brand-spanking-new front facing camera on your Samsung Vibrant!

10.  Usability

It is important that you first consider the tasks that you will be performing on your PC. If you wish to buy a computer for simply browsing the internet and using some online services than it might be better to buy a single core computer which satisfies your minimum requirements. On the contrary if you require using it for heavy video editing and professional work, then it might be better to buy a system that has enhanced multimedia options.

9. Price

This brings us to our next consideration of price. There might be some very fancy features that you want in your new PC. However, if you don’t have the cash to pay for lets say a graphic card with 1GB memory, than you might be better off choosing suitable alternatives.

8. Operating System Type.

Users with minimum requirements may be better off buying a Windows Starter or Home Premium version e.g. of Windows 7. For users who wish to take advantage of more enhanced features and require more effective tools such as connecting their PC to a domain are naturally better off buying a Professional or Ultimate Edition. Having said that the cost of a Windows 7 Ultimate Edition can be as much as 219$.

7. Size

Some people prefer buying larger laptops for a better display screen, whereas other prefer smaller and more portable sizes. If you are setting up a server which will be placed in a server room then size considerations will not mater much as large servers with multiple SCSI drives are normally quite big. Whereas, for people with weak eye sights a laptop with a larger display screen might be worth the price.

6. Peripherals

Peripheral devices such as printers,scanners,etc can significantly increase or reduce your price for buying a new PC. It might be better off buying a system with a DVD combo drive if you do not require writing data to DVDs.

5. Brand

Some brands offer better warrantees, whereas others offer software packages that come with the system. For example, a Dell laptop with the same specifications may be cheaper than a Sony Vio. The reason is that Sony provides many of its own softwares with their laptops which saves the users cost for buying software, e.g. a DVD burning. However, if you already have many such licensed or freeware software available, then it might be better to go for a cheaper brands. Acer for instance is known for its low cost laptops that provide more enhanced spcs like hard disk space and RAM as compared to its competitors.

4. Hard Disk

Hard Disk considerations might not mean much to a lay user, nonetheless, having the right amount of disk space and disk type might be the necessary for the efficient management of regular tasks for a professional. A common user may merely have to decide between buying a 120GB or 320 GB hard disk system. An IT professional on the contrary might have to decide between a SCSI or a Sata drive. As a scuzzy or SCSI(Small Computer System Interface) drive might be required for Raid configurations.

3. RAM

It is obvious that for more professional tasks and to run a Xeon Server there will be more RAM required than for merely using a PC for browsing the internet. Moreover, the RAM type may matter more than many people might consider. For example, there are not many applications currently available that can take advantage of DDR3 RAM types, one may be better of saving some dimes by buying a system with a DDR2 RAM.

2. Processor

The Processor is one of the most important parts of a system and can mean the difference between a system that frequently hangs and the one that runs smoothly. Some people might think that going for the low cost single core or Dual Core processors is a good idea but I would not recommend either of them for anyone who requires using a system for more than basic usage. Moreover, one might be better off buying a Corei3 system instead of a Core2Duo as the later might be more expensive and less efficient than the former. A Corei3 can cost up to 113$ whereas, a Core2Duo can cost 130$. For more demanding professionals, it might be better idea to buy a corei5 (if not a Core i7), as the core i5 uses Turbo Boost technology other than Hyper Threading.

1. Warranty

Warranty makes up the most important consideration for people when buying a system. Having one covered with the right kind of hardware warrantee is essential and should be unconditional. I still remember when Sony had to recall several Laptops due to a battery fault because of which their Laptops caught fire. I’m sure none of us would like to have a Laptop that we can fry omelets on without the guarantee of replacement.

For this configuration we are using a TP Link 54m (802.11g) wireless router. Normally connecting your wireless router with your active ADSL switch with a cross cable will instantly provide wireless connectivity. However, this method will also allow unrestricted access to adjacent systems in the neighborhood to use the internet connection. This can also cause network security issue. To prevent this from happening you can secure your connection with a key. To do this you will have to access your router by connecting it to your system with a straight cable. The reason I am advising connecting the router to the system directly is because if you have a new router it is possible that it may have the same IP as your ADSL switch i.e. 192.168.1.1. In case the IPs are separate you can simply connect the router to the ADSL switch with a cross cable (If you don’t know how to make a ethernet cable you can ask your vendor to make a cross/straight cable for you). Nonetheless, many routers normally come with ethernet cables. To get started, type the IP of your router in a browser or Windows Explorer and press enter. Most routers have a default IP of 192.168.1.1. For checking the factory default settings of your router, you can consult the manual. After that you will be prompted to login with your user ID and password. Most routers by default have admin as both.

Since most routers come with the same default IP, therefore, in case you mgith not be able to connect your internet wirelessly as well as to a a system which has no wifi card. In such a case you may be unable to the internet on both systems. To resolve this issue you can always go to the network settings to change your IP to be able to connect both wirelessly and via the network cable to seperate systems. this option can be located in the LAN tab in the Network drop down menu.

You can change the default login credentials to make your router more secure from external attack. This option in my router was located in System Tools, in the Maintenance drop down menu. The location of certain settings may be present in separate sections of different, switches, routers, IP Phones, etc.

To add a key to your router you can go to the security section and configure your wireless settings. You can use ASCII or Hexadecimal key format with a 64, 128 or 152 bit key type (depending on your router options).

• For 64-bit encryption – You can enter 10 hexadecimal digits (any combination of 0-9, a-f, A-F, zero key is not promitted) or 5 ASCII characters.
• For 128-bit encryption – You can enter 26 hexadecimal digits (any combination of 0-9, a-f, A-F, zero key is not promitted) or 13 ASCII characters.
• For 152-bit encryption – You can enter 32 hexadecimal digits (any combination of 0-9, a-f, A-F, zero key is not promitted) or 16 ASCII characters.

After you have configured these settings anyone with the key and a Wi-Fi card attached to their system can connect to your wireless network (within a certain range).

If you ever wish to revert to the default settings you can always restore to the factory default settings from the Factory Defaults section. This will restore your login credentials, IP address, etc back to the original factory settings.

Summary

1. Attach Your wireless router to your ADSL moden via cross cable in the LAN ports.

2. Access the wireless router via the IP.

3. Encrypt connection with a key.

4. Save your settings.

Optional

1. Change wireless routers IP.

2. Change login credentials.

It might be useful for many people to understand such basic configuration procedures as I can tell you with experience that whether one has to configure a Cisco IP Phone or a router/switch, the basic rules of configuration such as the ones mentioned above will apply. To avoid confusion, I have not referred to the rest of the settings as they are normally not required for setting up this kind of connection. As it is highly unlikely that you might have to configure your router options for  PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet), which by the way my ADSL device is configured for.

While the phone was charging using a standard wall socket charger, I tried pulling the battery out and inserting it back in. It did not work. Then I connected the phone to my computer using a mini USB cable, pulled the phone’s battery out and inserted it back in and viola! The phone powered on, and I could use it. I tried the same on a friend’s HTC HD2 and it worked the same way.

Although this might not work on all phones and was tested by me only on the above mentioned devices, it could prove to be a handy trick to try out when such a situation arises. It does require a PC and a USB connector cable for your cellphone.

Here is the step by step guide on fixing lag on your Dell Streak after your update to Android 2.2 Froyo:

Please note that we haven’t tested this method our selves so we are unable to determine if this method will work on rooted Dell Streak tablets as well.

1. The first step is to download Update.zip fix file according to your Dell Streak model number. Please note that the files are not interchangeable and you can’t flash one model’s fix on the other.

2. Now install ClockWorkMod Recovery Image on your Streak by using fastboot method. Please follow the thread posted here for detailed instructions on installing the recovery image.

3. Once done, connect your tablet to the computer, mount SD card and copy the earlier downloaded update.zip file to SD card root.

4. Now boot your device into ClockworkMod Recovery and flash the zip file by scrolling down to Apply Zip From SD Card.

5. Once the process is complete, reboot your device.

And there you go! your Streak is now lag free. Although this sounds to be a pretty painless lag fixing method, but some testers have reported losing their WI-Fi capability after deploying this hack. You can head on to the official XDA thread posted here for support and further information.

Please note that this guide is only intended for users who already have attained root on their Samsung Galaxy Tab. In addition to this, you also need to have busybox, Superuser, Android VNC and terminal  emulator pre-installed.

Before embarking on this guide, you need to have ADB installed on your PC. You can follow our comprehensive ADB tutorial posted here for this purpose.

1. The firsts step is to download Ubuntu package from here and save it on your desktop. The package contains bootlinux, fsrw, mountonly, ubuntu.img, ubuntu.sh and unionfs. Please note that the file size is 762 MB.

2. Now extract the files from the package you just downloaded.

3. Now connect your tab to the computer, mount SD card and make a new folder “Ubuntu” on SD card root.

4. Once done, copy all the extracted files to Ubuntu folder in SD card root.

5. Now unmount the card, but leave the Samsung Galaxy Tab plugged in.

6. Now launch Command Prompt on your computer and change directory to /SDK/tools. Use C:/Sdk/tools or wherever your SDK tools for Android are located.

7. Now type

adb shell

su

8. Once the # sign appears, type

sh ./ubuntu.sh

9. Now wait for the procedure to finish and enter

bootlinux

10. once you get the prompt root@localhost, it means that you have successfully flashed Ubuntu image on your Samsung Galaxy Tab.

11. Now assuming that you already have Android VNC setup, type the following commands:

rm -rf /tmp/.X*
export USER=root
vncserver -geometry 1280x800

It is extremely important to register that fact that this guide is intended for advanced users only and you can head on to the official XDA thread located here for results, help and support. You can also do all the steps in terminal emulator on your phone after pushing the files to SD card.

The problem is caused by the compatibility settings already enabled in the Samsung Galaxy S stock Android Firmware. The method is categorized as safe and doesn’t require you to have root. But in case you want  to root your Galaxy tab, you can see this post.

Here is the step by step guide on scaling your Galaxy Tab apps:

1. The firsts step is to download Spare Parts from the Market and install.
2. Once the installation is complete, launch Spare Parts.
3. In the Spare Parts Menu, scroll down to Compatibility mode.
4. If the check mark in front of Compatibility Mode is unchecked, check it. If the check mark is already there, uncheck  and then recheck it.
5. Once done, reboot your Samsung Galaxy Tab.
6. Now once your Tab starts, go to the applications which weren’t scaling to screen before and cross check by launching one of them to see if the problem is over.

And there you go! Now you apps will scale to screen without any issue.

Install iOS 4.2 On iPad:

1. The first step is to make sure that you have iTunes 10.1 Beta installed on your PC. If this isn’t the case, then get your copy and install it right now from links below.

4. Once connected, kick start iTunes and make a thorough backup by syncing your iPad to iTunes. This backup will be needed once you complete the upgrade / restore process to iOS 4.2 and want your favorite apps back on the pad. Backup is also important for cases where something goes terribly wrong with restore process and you need to revert back to where you were before.

5. Now simply restore your iPad to the latest iOS 4.2 version through iTunes. You just need to press the shift key when you click on Restore in iTunes and point it to the location where IPSW file is located.

6. Now wait for the restoration process to take place. As this is a whole firmware restore, so it might take so time.

7. iOS 4.2 is installed on your iPad, you are free to enjoy!

Important Information For Jailbreakers Regarding Installing iOS 4.2 On iPad:

Please note that neither Limera1n nor Greenpois0n jailbreak has iOS 4.2 on iPad in their pwnable devices list until now. If you rely on a jailbreak, then it is advised to stay away from their upgrade until Dev Team etc come out with a jailbreak for iOS 4.2 on iPad. We will update this post once we get any further information from the jailbreak scene.

We previously posted a detailed guide on rooting any Android phone with SuperOneClick Root app and likewise, the app also roots your Samsung Galaxy Tab. Here are the step by step instruction on rooting your tab with SuperOneClick App.

• The firsts step is to make sure that you have KIES installed on your computer.
• Now download SuperOneClick Root App from here and save it on your desktop.

3. Once this is done, double click on Greenpois0n.exe you saved on your desktop.
4. Now press and hold the sleep button for 3 Seconds [the count down on application screen will show you].
5. Now continue holding the sleep button and press home and hold it for 5 seconds.
6. After 5 seconds, let go of Sleep button while you continue holding home for 10 more seconds.
7. Now your iPod Touch will go in DFU mode. Sit back while Greepois0n jailbreaks your device.
8. Once the jailbreak is done, launch loader and click on Cydia icon to install it.

The Limera1n page has updated to indicate that Apple TV jb is "technically supported". I can confirm that I put my ATV2 into DFU mode and was able to "jailbreak" it. But since no AFC services or OpenSSH were installed (let alone APT), there’s nothing that really can be done with it at this time.

The above update from Eric verifies that Limera1n works on Apple TV 2, but with no root level access, you might not be able to see usual post-jailbreak stuff.

Here is how you can put your Apple TV 2 in DFU Mode:

• The first step is to connect your Apple TV2 to the computer.
• Once you have connected the device, press menu button along with down button simultaneously. This will reboot your device after 6 to 7 seconds.
• Now once your Apple TV 2 reboots, press the menu button with play button until you receive an iTunes prompt for “Apple TV detected in recovery mode”.

There you go! You now have have your Apple TV 2 in DFU Mode. Now you can close iTunes, download Limera1n and Make it Ra1n on your Apple TV 2G.

The latest breakthrough in this direction is Google’s Chrome OS getting ported on Apple’s iPad. We did hear some rumors of this operation being carried out before but now, it is a reality! “Officially”, the existing Apple TV owners won’t be able to restore their devices to this new firmware because hardware differences. But we never know what the jailbreak community might be up to, because if Apple negates something doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be banned forever. The jailbreak community is always able to find some way round to get things done, which Apple doesn’t really want or appreciate you doing.

According to Dev Team, the recently discovered SHatter exploit might be able to jailbreak AppleTV. Here is what their Blog post has to say about jailbreaking Apple TV with SHatter exploit:

It’s looking like SHAtter is going to be the gift that keeps on giving.  Even though the new AppleTV isn’t yet in people’s homes, the firmware is available on Apple’s normal public distribution servers and SHAtter has been used to decrypt its keys!  The main filesystem (“Mojave8M89.K66OS”) key for 018-8609-066.dmg is:

31c700a852f1877c88efc05bc5c63e8c7f081c4cb28d024ed7f9b0dbc98c7e1406e499c6
