When surfing through different websites on the internet, a lot of data is collected on our computer by the browsers, including web pages, images and videos. All this data is stored in temporary form and it gets deleted when the temp folder reaches the size limit. The browser keeps the data in its cache in order to avoid downloading everything again from a website on subsequent visits. If you want to copy something from the temporary folder, you will have to navigate to the folder, search for the required file, which is not an easy task, considering the number of files that are usually present there, and then manually copy it to another folder. cacheCopy is an open source application that allows you to automatically copy images from the temporary folder of browsers to a specified location.

The function keys at the top of the keyboard are mapped by default to perform some global functions, such as F1 for help, F3 for search and F5 for refresh, and some application specific functions, like F11 switches browsers to full screen mode. In laptops, and some modern desktop keyboards, extended media controls are also available, which can be accessed by combining it with an additional key, including Alt and Windows keys (Alt+F4 for closing applications, for example). However, there’s no default option to remap the keys to functions of your choice. Midi Sheet Music is an open source application that allows you to play MIDI files and convert them to sheet music. The application plays the music files in MIDI format, and automatically highlights the current music note being played. It allows you to set different custom colors for each note, and plays the track on a user-specified speed. You can choose which instrument to show & which to hide from the sheet, and view the staves according to a different Key Signature, Time Signature and Transpose, Shift Notes, Measure length etc of tracks. It lets you enable and disable note letters along with the staves, and show/hide Measure Numbers of notes. You can save the staves as images, and print them from within the application. Although there are a number of handy PDF viewers, such as Adobe PDF, they do not allow extensive PDF editing. For this reason, one has to use a separate application for performing PDF related editing. Most PDF editors, such as CutePDF, simply allow converting all kinds of file types into PDF format, rather than allowing to edit existing PDF files in a comprehensive manner. Hence, such applications are more of PDF writers rather than PDF editors.

People who use PDF writers, may require converting the PDF document to another format (e.g., TXT Format), and then using a PDF writer to convert the document back to PDF format after editing. BabyPDF is a an application that acts as both a viewer and editor for PDF documents. It comes with basic controls that enable you to adjust the appearance of the documents which you are working with (in the viewing mode), whereas the editing mode allows modifying the PDF file’s content.

However, if you want to simply find the values of a random color, give ColorToy a try. It is a portable application that allows you to select and preview a color by defining its RGB values in Floating Point, RGB or HTML syntax, or through separate sliders for each. Previously, we have covered a lot of Windows application for calculating hash values to verify file integrity, including Digesec Hashing Utility, inCrypto and Md5Checker, as well as Shell Extensions like HashTab and FilePropsMan. Notepad++ is a light-weight, yet powerful application development IDE that supports a great number of native and third-party plugins to speed up the application development process. If you are a web developer, and looking for a way to create text expansion functions and code templates in order to quickly use them in code files, WebEdit is just what you probably need. It’s small Notepad++ extension that includes all commonly used code templates with an option to create new code templates and edit existing ones.
