Geolocation does not work and that is all this is. At best youll get down to a semi accurate city. for example my ip shows me as being in akron but im not im 10 or so miles south. I was looking at the claims of the other linked service up above and regardless of what they say it is geoloc as well eg ip2location.net type stuff it does not work. If you want a working low jack like system for laptops and comps get lojack for laptops. Wireless will never cut it unless there is a muni wifi set up where your laptop ends up. And even then relying on geo location will not work.
Now if you report your laptop stolen and if you can some how convince the police who can convince a judge to supeana the isp records the isp can tell them the address for the ip. But these things will not work

An option to hide the add-on would be very nice, because, thinking that a thief may check any add ons for this, and the name is very obvious. If the add-on is hidden, then it providers better stealth mode.
I just checked in, with my own notebook. It reported it to be 15 miles away in another town (?!).

I own a laptop myself and glad, I saw this post. Though the add ons are additional option to the browser. This add on can be added as an essential feature in the future versions of Firefox.
