Most webmasters and bloggers are used to Windows Live Writer due to it’s user friendly interface. However WLW is not portable and one cannot install it on his/her friend’s or co-worker’s computer. The solution to this problem is ScribeFire, a full-featured blog editor add-on for Firefox which enables one to post articles while surfing for relevant material.
Making it further easier for netbook users to publish their content without having to install WLW. Adding more, it also enables one to add text, images directly from web-pages into editing pane. This Firefox add-on integrates completely with Firefox, letting you open the editing pane instantly whenever you come across something important on web.
Once successfully installed, you can launch it from the right of the status bar. Upon first launch it will start a wizard taking all the required details related to the blog and asking for login credentials.
After configuration of blog settings and theme is complete, you are good to go. By default it will divide the browser window in two halves but you can change it’s view from Settings.
It has almost every text formatting tools which are indispensable for writing blog posts. Predominantly it provides you with an option for searching and inserting YouTube videos directly.
Upon clicking YouTube button(see screenshot above), a new dialog will appear from where you can search for relevant YouTube videos.
It also let users to share the current page on multiple social websites, to access this feature, click Promote button from left sidebar menu.
For configuring advance settings, click setting button from the left sidebar menu. It will bring up ScribeFire Settings dialog. Here you can configuring variety of options by navigating through different tabs.
It requires a minimum of Firefox version 3.0, will work on all later versions, including the latest 3.6.
