Does this annoy you that Firefox displays bookmarks in its address bar along with web history? Firefox is certainly the best browser in the market but it doesn’t mean its perfect, the annoying feature of its awesome bar is that it displays the bookmarks in its address bar along with web history and suggestions. Most of the users prefer to display only links from the web history rather than the added bookmarks suggestions. To prevent this annoying feature, follow these simple steps.
These methods are geeky stuff, be careful if you have less knowledge about customizing Firefox through about:config page.
To Disable Bookmarks As Suggestions In Address Bar
This method will prevent Firefox from displaying bookmarks as suggestions in the address bar.
Open Firefox and type about:config in the address bar and click on the button “I’ll be Careful, I Promise”

Type places.frecency.unvisitedBookmarkBonus in the filter bar and set its value to 0.

Now type places.frecency.bookmarkVisitBonus and set its value to 0 too.

Restart your browser. When you set the frequency of bookmarks to zero, firefox take some time to recalculate the values. So the bookmarks may not disappear immediately from the address bar but they will as you use Firefox.
To Only Autocomplete The Typed Address – No Suggestions
This method prevents Firefox to display any kind of suggestions be it web history or bookmarks but rather it only auto completes the address you are typing into the address bar.
Type browser.urlbar.matchonlytyped in the filter box.

Change the value to True by double clicking on it.

To Completely Disable Auto-complete Drop-Down Box
This method will prevent Firefox from displaying any kind of suggestion not even Autocomplete dialogue box.
Type browser.urlbar.maxRichResults in the filter bar.

And now change its value to –1
and you are done.
