Oops! Download YouTube Extension Removed By Google

It turns out YouTube Downloader extension slipped into Chrome extension gallery by mistake, Google has pulled down the extension the last time I checked. The YouTube Downloader extensions was accepted and pulled down within 24 hours, the first extension to get pulled down after getting approved.

So what does this mean? YouTube Downloader and Easy YouTube Downloader are almost same extensions as I mentioned in this post. YouTube Downloader was available in official Google Chrome gallery while Easy YouTube Downloader is currently available in 3rd party gallery called ChromeExtensions.org.

Just because Google pulled down an extension from the official gallery doesn’t mean you can’t get it from elsewhere. Go ahead and install Easy YouTube Downloader.

It turns out an employee who accepted the extension failed to do his homework before accepting it. If you are wondering why Google pulled down YouTube Downloader extension? It is because the extension was violating Google’s own TOS(Terms of Service).

It isn’t surprising since it was bound to happen anyway, back to work now! ;)

    Also has been removed video2file. Bad for Google. Non official extension gallerys gonna win whit this. If google make a move on it then Chrome will be dead forever!
