Whether or not Facebook should’ve left the decision of activation its Timeline feature entirely to the users’ discretion from the very first day is a debate that we’ll reserve for some other occasion. For now, all those who love embellishing their Timeline Cover with a brand new photo at frequent intervals, but feel short of quality alternatives in this regard, we have a very handy solution. Facebook Covers for Timeline (I hope the name says it all) is an Android and iOS app that helps you find some of the best Cover photos for your Facebook Timeline. Initially released in the iOS App Store, the app has just made its way into the Google Play Store to provide Android users with some fine quality Facebook Timeline covers. Unlike the iOS variant that currently costs $0.99, the Android version of the app is absolutely free. Featuring dozens of popular photo categories, each comprising a wide variety of regularly-updated images, the app lets you change your Facebook Timeline Cover photos right from your mobile device.
Facebook Covers for Timeline is not all about exploring and circling between your Cover photos; it also helps you activate the Timeline feature on your Facebook account, if not already done.
There’s not much to talk about the app’s interface, really. Sporting exactly identical looks as its iOS counterpart, the Android version of the app also opens to the Topics screen from where you can navigate to the preferred photo category. The other main tab on the homescreen lists all the Cover photos that you’ve added to your Favorites list. Instead of listing each and every Cover photo that the app supports, all we can say is that there are some really high quality and diverse options to pick from.
To upload a photo to your Timeline, you’ll have to first authorize the app to access your Facebook account. Once past that, you can upload, like/dislike or bookmark a photo. Before uploading the photo, the app checks if the Timeline feature on your Facebook account is activated. If it is, the app uploads the selected photo to your Facebook’s Cover Photos album. As per the app’s instructions, all you need to do is hit the Jeego FB Covers album, select the required Cover photos and tada! Your Facebook Timeline has a brand new Cover photo! In case of a template, the app lets you fill the blank photo area with a freshly captured image, or a custom image stored on your device.
Even if the app somehow fails to change the Cover photo, it will, nevertheless, successfully update said album on your Facebook profile with the selected images, which you can then utilize from, say, the Facebook website on your desktop browser.
