Apple’s very own iPod and iPhone are wonderful multimedia devices, and it can be a real treat to watch videos on either of these. However, getting any video to an iPhone/iPod compatible format can be a cumbersome task for many. While there are many solutions out there, Tooble is one unique application targeting YouTube videos only and converting them to iPhone, iPod and Apple TV compatible formats.
This application, once installed, allows a user to download YouTube videos with the ease of one single click. Upon the first launch, the application will most likely ask for some additional components being needed. Let these install.
After Perian has installed, the main interface of Tooble will show up. It shows YouTube and Tooble’s own feeds, as well as sorts videos by categories. Unlike most such software, Tooble communicates directly with the YouTube servers, so you can search and download any video available on YouTube website.
When you have located your desired video, double click it to bring up info regarding it, along with options to download the video or watch it in the browser.
Click the download button and video will be added to the download queue. The finished downloads are automatically added to iTunes under Movies.
Tooble requires minimum of Mac OS X 10.4 or later to run. There is a paid, Pro version of Tooble available as well that adds some additional functions like downloading from multiple sites, download audio-only from any video etc.
