A good camera app for iOS must be simple enough that you can use when in a hurry, but still has all the necessary features available in it. The stock camera app in iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is pretty simplistic, and does not have a lot of features. This is the reason there are many third-party apps in the App Store which provide an alternative to the stock camera. Once such app is CameraSharp, which contains just about any feature you can wish for in a camera app. It includes anti-shaking, voice triggering of camera shutter, time lapse and integration with the stock Photos app. There are many other features as well, and you can find everything about them by heading past the break.
Using CameraSharp is easy, and the app starts with a pretty comprehensive tutorial pertaining to its usage and features. It even supports a few gestures, which improve the ease of use. You can tap the screen anywhere to focus on any particular part of the screen, while tapping with two fingers brings up the exposure frame. When you have chosen the perfect focus and exposure spots, tap the lock button in the top left corner of the screen and then use the shutter button to capture the photo. Front camera support is there in the app as well. There are 6 modes CameraSharp uses to facilitate users in photo capture. If you choose Anti-shake, the photo won’t be snapped unless you steady your hand. Sound mode will let you capture photos by clapping your hand even if you are away from your phone. The Big Button options will shoot a photo as soon as you hit your phone’s screen anywhere. Similar options exist for time lapse (Continuous) and Self-timer.
You can control the camera flash from within the app, and there are options available for it on the main camera screen. Camera Roll can be accessed using the button in the bottom left. CameraSharp has pretty useful feature named Bubble level, which displays an indicator on the preview screen, letting users know the orientation of their iDevice. In the same Settings menu it is possible to toggle on and off sounds, geo-tagging and grid. To zoom in or out it is possible to use the slider at the bottom of the camera screen.
CameraSharp is free for a limited time, and has full potential to become your first-choice camera app as soon as you start using it.
