The recent weeks have seen a flurry of Mango updates for a number of popular (and some not so popular) apps. That is quite understandable, with the expected date of the fruity release just days away (15th September maybe). Hopping on to Windows Phone 7’s new Mango bandwagon is Park It. The useful little app has been around for quite a while now, but the latest update makes it available for Mango in addition to adding some handy new features. The basic concept of the app is to help you remember where you parked your car and find your way back to it. This might sound like an insignificant task to some, but the truth of the matter is that in a crowded parking lot, it can get pretty confusing to find your car.

So how do you use it? Just snap a picture of the place where you have parked the car, and add a tag. Using the built-in location services in WP7, the location where you take the picture is saved automatically by Park It. You can add a custom note to the picture too. All done? Just tap the “Save Parking Spot” button.

When you want to find your car, just navigate to the “find spot” tab and it will guide you to the parking area through step-by-step instructions. The app also keeps track of spots you have used in the past. Park It is free and also works on non-Mango devices. But beware – it does have crashing issues, especially when run without a data connection.
