Did you update your iPhone to the all new and much hyped iOS 4, and hate those annoying iAds popping out of every app? If you’re amongst the sufferers from iAds, we’ve got some awesome news for you. Our sources have revealed that renowned iPhone developer and hacker chpawn is working on developing an application for jailbroken iOS devices  that goes by the name of iAdkiller and as the name suggests, it’s an ad killer. More info after the jump.

While ads are great for developers to earn some money through advertisement in their free apps, they can be annoying for the users and feel intrusive on an interactive and personal device such as your smartphone or tablet. This app will actually help in disabling all the iAds that tend to make your iPhone usage and navigation a pretty frustrating problem. We have no exact date as to when this will be released, but chpawn has started this project at Github so it is a matter of time only when other developers will join hands to accomplish this project. Once this project meets it’s final destiny, we are very much sure that you will be able to say NO to those iAds popping up on your favorite iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. We will update this post as soon as we come across more information on this iAdkiller project.

Update: iAddKiller is available on Cydia now and you can install it on your jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad using the following method:

  1. Launch Cydia and go to the ‘Manage’ tab.
  2. Tap ‘Sources’ on the Manage screen.
  3. Tap ‘Edit’, followed by ‘Add’.
  4. Enter http://apt.macosmovil.com in the text prompt and tap ‘Add Source’. Wait till Cydia automatically updates sources, adding this new one in the process.
  5. Now simply search for ‘iAdKiller’ in Cydia and install it.

That’s pretty much it. Once installed, iAdKiller will automatically eliminate all iAd advertisements from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. Enjoy your ad-free iOS device!
