Finally there is some good news for Acer Liquid owners waiting for their handsets to boast of Android 2.2 Froyo.  Liquid_User at Modaco Forums has released the official Android 2.2 Froyo Rom for Acer Liquid. We still have no idea whether this ROM is for Acer Liquid E or any other prototype, but we  can expect it to work on every Acer Liquid handset.

The build is pretty stable with all core and necessary phone functions working. The JIT compiler magic is also there as the speed massively improves after loading this Rom.

The Rom has been reported with working:

  • LED Lights
  • Haptic Touch Feedback
  • Wi-Fi
  • Data
  • Wireless Tethering

Here is the step by step guide on installing Android 2.2 Froyo official leaked build on your Acer Liquid.

  • The first step is to download Android 2.2 Froyo official build and save it on your desktop.
  • Now connect you phone to the computer and save the zip file in your SD card root.
  • Once this is done, boot your mobile in recovery mode and flash zip file following on screen options. \
  • Once the installation finishes, reboot your device and there you go! You have successfully installed Android 2.2 Froyo on your Acer Liquid.

    When im trying to flash the zip, it says “installation abort, Umount fs and retry”. Umounted and retryed, same error >:(

    Okay, finally, the 2.2 is working, but how can i root my phone cos i had to install the 2.2 with a1 tool nad now my root acces is gone! :( . I tried to root it with malez recovery, but always when im starting to root, its says “Error. Run root.sh 1.1 from abd console or malez menu!”. What should i do?

    You just have to install BusyBox in [Other] (malez) and root :)
