Finally there is some great news for LG Optimus 2X owners waiting impatiently to get their hands on the latest MIUI ROM. According to Mark at MIUI Android, the test MIUI release for Optimus 2X is up for those who dare. For those who don’t know, MIUI is a custom 3rd party Android AOSP based firmware for select Android devices with root privileges.
The popularity of MIUI is comparable to that of CyanogenMod as both these ROMs share some View in gallerycommonalities. The latest beta version of MIUI is 1.7.22 based on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and comes with tons of improvements as well as promises rock stability once flashed. Although this MIUI port has got solid credibility as it comes with permission from official MIUI ROM team, but they won’t be officially supporting this port for now.
In order to install MIUI Android custom ROM on your Optimus 2X, you will need to have permanent root privileges on your devices. The ROM can be downloaded from
this link (this version not available anymore) and then flashed through ClockworkMod Custom Recovery preceded by a complete WIPE and Nandroid backup. We are sure that this build can be your daily driver with all major functionalities working, but you never know when a bug surfaces and starts doing funny things with your devices.
