Download YouTube Videos To iPhone/iPod Touch For Free

Jailbreaking you iPhone or iPod Touch increases its potential and possibilities far beyond what Apple had actually intended. The device is capable and can do wonders, but Apple just doesn’t want it too. One of the deeply missed features has always been the lack of ability to download YouTube videos from the excellent built-in client. For jailbroken devices, there has been a paid solution by the name of YourTube which adds download function to the native YouTube client. However, free is free, and a paid app can never substitute it.

Hence we bring to you today a simple and effective solution, with the name of WatchMob, available in Cydia under BigBoss and Planet iPhones repositories. This free application gets added to you springboard and allows you to search YouTube for videos and download them.

The application has four tabs at the bottom. Search allows you to search for videos based on keywords. The Downloads tab lists all videos that are being downloaded or have been before.

The Video tab lists all the completed downloads, and allows them to be played back.

The last tab, More, appeals for users’ donations. Please note that the application is heavily ad-supported, so if you something against in-app advertisements, this may not be thing for you.

Videos downloaded with WatchMob will not show up under your device’s native library, and can only be played through the application itself. Video quality is passable, and speeds are nice. Overall it is a pleasure to use this application. It will work with jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch only.
