The new update has been fixed to quickly detect and connect to Verizon 4G LTE and 3G network [when available]. Apart from these improvements, a whole new Email structure has been implemented with significant improvements in Calendar and Email syncing options. The EE4 Update for Droid Charge also comes packaged with restoration of mobile hotspot, speedy USB Mass Storage detection on PC and improved GPS Performance.

According to some users, they have already updated their stock Droid Charge phones with this update. The users who opted to root their phone for modding and flashing custom ROMs, Kernels etc. have tried and failed updating their phones. For the sake of safety, it is advised to stay away from this update if you have rooted Droid Charge. We are sure that ROM developers are already at work on integrating this update with their ROMs and kernels.

Here are the system update directions direct from Verizon:

System Update Instructions

You will be notified that a system update is available on your device. Press "Install now" and your device will power off and back on and the installation process will begin.

Note: If you choose "Install later" this will delay installation and you will be taken back to the home screen. The system update message will appear every 30 minutes until you install the update.

We have no confirmation if you have re-root your device using old rooting method after you have updated your Droid Charge with EE4. You can head to the official XDA discussion thread posted here for more information and support.
