According to BGR, Facebook has finally launched “Places” –That is Facebook’s answer to Foursquare.com. Facebook’s “Places” will be a feature reach application that will allow you to:
- Identify your current location
- See who is in your neighborhood
- Look into what’s happening in your proximity
Apart from these key features of Places, you will also be able to:
- Tag Friend While Checking into locations
- Create a news feed item showing your check-in location
There is something for the developers too in Places, as Facebook has given API access and Gowalla turns out to be one of the first API development partner. There will be a new Facebook update lurking in your app store on your iPhone and Market on your Android which will carry “Places”.
