What iOS lacks in terms of editing options in the stock Photos and Camera apps, it more than makes up for it with the availability of a lot of third-party photo editors. There is no shortage of apps in the App Store that let users make their photos more interesting before they share them with the world. Each photo-related app has its own set of fans, owing to the fact that almost all of them come with one or more distinguishing features. Fotoyaki is yet another photo editing app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and in addition to having a good collection of filters, it can also be used to create mosaics out of the photos you have in your collection.
There is no need to sign up or create a new account to use Fotoyaki. As soon as the app is launched, you get the home screen, asking you if you want to choose a picture from your device’s library, or if you would prefer to shoot one using the camera. In either case, once you have the image opened in the app, you are ready to make changes to it. Using the app isn’t complicated at all, and all you have to do is to choose any effect from the bottom bar, and a single tap on it will apply the change to the opened photo. There are a lot of common effects, like B & W, Sepia, Vintage, etc, but the app’s specialty lies in the filters listed towards the end of the list. Effects like Fotoception and Acid Tiles in Fotoyaki access the whole collection of photos stored in your iDevice, and then overlay those pics with the opened image to create a beautiful collage.
Using Fotoyaki, you can also resize and crop an image. The whole process is done through the pinching gesture. There are four cropping frames available in this menu as well, which differ from each other in terms of their shapes. After you hit the green button to confirm that you are done cropping the image, a frame will also be added to it, depending upon the shape of the cropping layout you used. The end results of your efforts can be saved to the device, or you can share them with anyone via email. Fotoyaki also lets its users publish images to Facebook and Twitter.
The app is free, and you can grab it by going to the download link below.
