Music is an integral part of many people’s daily lives. And your phone is your constant companion which is always with you and lets you enjoy the music of your choice on the go. Many people attribute the iPhone’s success to focus on music, and that is quite true. It is a common sight today to see a person walking down a road with headphones plugged into their ears. This constant obsession with music has been fuelled even further thanks to the latest rise to fame of smartphones. Android, iOS and Windows Phone all lay special emphasis on letting users listen to their favorite songs in an optimal and convenient manner. Samsung Omnia 7 is a Windows Phone 7 device which comes with pretty good acoustic properties. And that’s why you can really enjoy it’s headphones (specially if you got the original Samsung ones with your device). But if you feel that there’s still room for improvement, you can increase the headphone volume of this device using the procedure described below!
As you might already be aware, most smartphone hardware is capable of playing louder sounds than it generally does, but the manufacturers like to play it safe and keep the volume levels a bit low intentionally. This boosts the stability level of sound, and the device overall, quite appreciably. So, if you have the guts, you can always get more out of your device in terms of volume level. This particular fix has been proposed on XDA forums by senior member Cerato, and here’s how it goes.
Disclaimer: Please follow this guide at your own risk. AddictiveTips will not be liable if your device gets damaged or bricked during the process.
- First and foremost make sure that your headphones are attached to your phone, as the fix won’t work otherwise.
- Access the diagnosis mode by dialing ##634# from your phone.
- Input *#0002*28345# in the diagnosis screen.
- Navigate to “Device Gain (max/min)” and hit the Get button next to it.
- In the 3 fields, enter these values respectively
5, 1100 and –1100
- Hit Set.
- Tap on the Start button at the bottom of the app, and you are done.
After restarting your phone you will feel a noticeable increase in your phone’s headphone volume. We personally tested this hack on our Omnia 7 only, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will work on other first generation Samsung Windows Phones too, specially the Focus. Do give it a try, as there can’t be many harmful results.
