The hard reset process for Motorola Backflip is as easy (or as difficult for some) as it is for any other Android phone, and we’re here to guide you through it. Read on for more details and our complete step-by-step guide.
The need for hard reset can arise in many situations. If you have installed too many apps and changed too many settings to the extent that you just want to take a fresh start from factory state, or if you have bought a used phone and the previous owner forgot to clear everything of their from the device, a hard reset is what you need. Also, when you are looking to root your device or load a new ROM to it, hard reset may be requireed in one of the steps. Whatever use scenario applies to you, you should be able to easily and safely hard reset it with this guide.
Please note that a hard reset will remove all of your data from the phone, including contacts, emails, SMS and MMS messages, settings of system apps, all your installed apps and their settings, and any other data you have modified in the /data partition. For that reason, you should first take a backup of all the info you want to keep. Don’t worry about your SD card contents, as a hard reset wil not effect those.
All that said, here is the step by step guide on how to hard reset your Motorola Backflip:
- The first step is to turn your phone’s power off.
- Now press the camera button together with power button of the device.
- After boot screen and prompt, release the camera button.
- Now you need to hold the volume reduction button and wait for the screen that displays triangle with an exclamation mark.
- Open the keypad and press ALT L and ALT W keys respectively.
- At this moment your device will undergo rebooting process. Wait patiently till it reboots.
Now your Motorola Backflip device has been restored to factory settings. After the reboot, make sure to select to register for a new Blur account during the setup routine. Again, follow this guide at your own risk if you aren’t taking any backups first because then there will be no way left to get your information back from the phone in case in that case.
