Phoenix is a themed ROM for Samsung Captivate with a gingerbread-inspired custom theme that looks great in both its green and blue color schemes, while the included smooth boot and switch animations and slick fonts make it look even more stunning. The framework is tweaked to further enhance the look. Several great apps are included and most of them are already updated to the latest versions available. SGS Tools, Multitouch Preview Gallery, Fancy Widget and jk4Modem are also present. Several tweaks have been applied to enhance GPS and make it great, improve battery life and reduce its drain and make the overall experience fast and smooth.
To install this ROM, download it from the link given below, copy it to the root of your SD card, reboot your phone into recovery and flash the ROM while in recovery after taking a nandroid backup and wiping all data and cache. If you are unfamiliar with all or any of this, refer to our comprehensive guide on how to install a custom ROM to your Android phone.
Once you have the ROM flashed, you can improve GPS performance by using ‘supl.google.com’ as the server and ‘7276’ as the port. Once you have changed these values, just delete your past GPS data and you’re good to go!
