[Giveaway] Turn Your Portraits Into Facial Animations With LiveFace For iPhone

If you are an iPhone user, then you probably would have  come across many apps that let you create animations with relative ease. Usually, you have to perform a few steps before the animation is actually created, and then it mostly has a few shortcomings or flaws. LiveFace for iOS  is a fun app that lets you bring your portraits to life, literally. It lets you easily create animations from face shots, allowing you to export the results as GIF, MP4, SWF or JPG files. You can animate faces in photos in several different ways with no more than a few taps, making your friends wink or appear extatic regardless of what mood they were in when the photo was shot.

Note: LiveFace has a price tag of $1.99 on the App Store. We’re giving away seven promo codes for the app to seven lucky readers, details for which can be found at the end of this post.

Using LiveFace is easy, and you won’t have to sweat over getting every detail right in order to have a perfect animation, as the app does just about everything for you. On the main page of LiveFace, there are three options; Fun Booth, Studio and Gallery. If you are a new user, start with Fun Booth. In this section of the app, you have to choose whether you want to snap an image right from within the app and then edit it, or if you want to load something from your device’s camera roll. Once the image has been imported to LiveFace, the next step is to define the area (usually a face) so that the app can work exactly over it. If you want to define the whole face, use the default mask, although there are many other, more particular masks available in the app as well, using which you can define the editing path to be just eyes or mouth. Once all that has been done, you are ready to apply the animated effects over the selected area of the picture. The icon of each effect depicts its working pretty accurately, and if you applied the mask correctly, you will get the amusing results straight away.

LiveFace Studio LiveFace Save

Unfortunately, only one animation effect can be applied to any photo at a time, at least while you are in Fun Booth mode. If you want to combine more than one effects, you will have to go to the Studio mode. Here, it is possible to create animation effects of your own. Define the mask, just like in Fun Booth, and then using the simple left, right, up and down buttons, make the photo’s chosen path move. In addition to that, there are also the Touch Tools that let you deform (or liquify) any part of the image, as well as restore the changes. Studio supports addition of layers, and you can choose to make them cyclic or non-cyclic. The animations created in LiveFace can be shared over email, Twitter or through your Wi-Fi connection. In the Wi-Fi sharing mode, you just have to type in the IP address provided by the app in any browser on the same network.

The app’s gallery can be accessed from the main page of LiveFace, and it is also possible to export and share images from there. The Settings menu of the app lets you choose the size and format of animations. LiveFace is a paid app, and will cost you $1.99. You can grab it at the link below.
