Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a wonderful Android phone that has gained massive user base along with consistent underground development support. There is no major Android custom ROM that hasn’t made it to Xperia, and the latest MIUI 1.7.8 isn’t an exception as well. Cobarto, XDA Senior Member and Custom ROM Chef, has managed to develop MIUI 1.7.8 based Custom ROM for Xperia X10 that will give your phone the awesomeness MIUI has to offer. For those who don’t know, MIUI is a 3rd party custom Android AOSP based firmware designed and developed to provide stability and enhance user experience. MIUI started as an “iOS” theme for Android phone but later developed into a fully functional Android ROM.
According to the ROM developer, MIUI 1.7.8 ROM for Xperia X10 uses a brand new theme format which is quicker to apply on the phone. And as this is still a work in progress, so here is the list of features that work after flashing this ROM on Xperia X10:
The major known bug is screen rotation lag that is caused by some themes.
In order to install this ROM on your Xperia X10, you will first need to do a factory reset through pre-installed XRecovery and then flash the ROM normally through Apply Zip From SD Card in recovery. For users with baseband bb46-53, you will first need to flash BB67 using flashtool. If you have BB54+, then this ROM will work without the need to upgrade radio or baseband. You can download MIUI 1.7.8 Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread custom ROM for Xperia X10 from here and then head to the official ROM thread for detailed installation instructions and FAQs.
