Overclock HTC Inspire 4G / Desire HD To 1.8Ghz On CyanogenMod 7

desire hdThe HTC Desire HD and the HTC Inspire 4G have been pushed even further with an unbelievable 1.8Ghz overclock achieved on the CyanogenMod 7 Custom ROM. XDA-Developers forum member DOAlaboratories has just released a modified kernel of CM7 for the Desire HD and the Inspire 4G. Not only does it allow you achieve 1.8Ghz on your device, it also drops the minimum clock to 122Mhz allowing your device to save ample battery juice.

So far the response and feed back has been quite positive, with no reports of crashes or severe battery drain. So let’s be quick as this overclock is meant to be and get this kernel flashed on your Device. Please note that the flashing procedure would be the same for both the Inspire 4G and the Desire HD.

Instructions:

  1. Download the kernel. For Desire HD | Inspire 4G.
  2. Move the file to your SD card.
  3. Reboot into recovery.
  4. Make a nandroid backup.
  5. Wipe cache and Dalvick cache. Do NOT wipe factory/reset settings.
  6. Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > CM7OC_1.1.zip.
  7. Reboot your phone.

There you go, now your Desire HD is ready for some major overclocking! Download SetCPU and adjust to your preference.

    now my mobile doesn’t it doesn’t stop rebooting every second

      I fixed it by taking the battery and SD out for 30 seconds before putting back in the phone. Then hold the volume down button while turning phone on. Scroll to ‘recovery’ by using the volume up or down button and then use the power button to select. Phone will load recovery and reboot. Then it should be back to normal. DO NOT USE THIS FILE FOR ROM! IT DOES NOT WORK ON HTC DESIRE HD.

    I get the same non results as the above.. Phone just keeps booting. This Rom or method is no good. Beware. Do not try this on HTC desire HD!

    Don’t think it’s an issue with the rom. Seems more like after you overclock it, it starts to overheat hence the continuous reboots.

    So what are the requirements? I have an inspire 4g with root and s-off, is that all I need? does it work with coredroid?

    Would it matter what version on CyanogenMod 7 is in use? I have an Inspire4G but I’m running CM7 for Desire HD, would I have to use the Desire kernel instead of the Inspire?

      I used Android Revolution HD and overclocked to 1.8 GHz and the phone just crashed. Don’t think u can go past 1.68 ghz on desire HD
