The HTC Desire HD and the HTC Inspire 4G have been pushed even further with an unbelievable 1.8Ghz overclock achieved on the CyanogenMod 7 Custom ROM. XDA-Developers forum member DOAlaboratories has just released a modified kernel of CM7 for the Desire HD and the Inspire 4G. Not only does it allow you achieve 1.8Ghz on your device, it also drops the minimum clock to 122Mhz allowing your device to save ample battery juice.
So far the response and feed back has been quite positive, with no reports of crashes or severe battery drain. So let’s be quick as this overclock is meant to be and get this kernel flashed on your Device. Please note that the flashing procedure would be the same for both the Inspire 4G and the Desire HD.

ClockWorkMod Recovery installed.
Instructions:

Download the kernel. For Desire HD | Inspire 4G.

Move the file to your SD card.

Reboot into recovery.

Make a nandroid backup.

Wipe cache and Dalvick cache. Do NOT wipe factory/reset settings.

Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > CM7OC_1.1.zip.

Reboot your phone.
There you go, now your Desire HD is ready for some major overclocking! Download SetCPU and adjust to your preference.
