Zite, a widely used, smart news app previously only available for the iPad, has now been released for iPhone users as well. It gets you news from around the world, and analyzes your Twitter and Google reader accounts so that it can get you feeds from the genre of news you like to read. It gets updated by the minute, and its easy-on-the-eyes interface makes reading on the go a great experience.

For those of us who like to keep themselves updated with the latest news and happenings from around the world, there are plenty of apps out there that let you access RSS feeds and other news content. Though at times, direct feeds from newspapers and other news sources isn’t exactly what you are looking for, and would rather prefer a feed curated with your interests in particular, based on the type of news you read most. That’s where Zite really shines. It uses your Google Reader and Twitter accounts to curate a news feed tailored specifically to your interests.

When you first launch Zite, you have to authorize it to gain access to your Google Reader and Twitter account for it to get you news according to your subscribed feeds on Google Reader and the accounts you are following on twitter. Zite offers many Sections from which you can browse news. It also offers Top Stories of the day from each section as well as World News where you can keep an eye on global events.
