Targeted at the mid-range customers, Acclaim sports specs decent enough for most average users. Here are the details:

  • Android 2.1 Eclair OS (upgradable to Android 2.2 Froyo)
  • Samsung TouchWiz UI
  • 800 MHz Processor
  • 256 MB RAM
  • CDMA 800 / 1900 2G connectivity
  • CDMA2000 1xEV-DO 3G connectivity
  • 3.2 Inch HVGA Capacitive Touch Screen
  • Optical Trackpad
  • Slider Qwerty Keyboard
  • 3.2 Mega Pixel Auto Focus Rear Camera with LED flash and Geo-tagging support
  • MicroSD card slot with 4 GB card included
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with Wi-Fi Hotspot support upon Android 2.2 update
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • Accelerometer
  • Proximity sensor
  • Pre-Loaded with Google Mobile Services
As you can see, the spec-sheet seems to be quite adequate for most day-to-day users. However, a few things have been neglected that are usually find even in most mid-range Android devices. One of these is an ambient light sensor for automatic adjustment of screen brightness. If you don’t care for this and would be fine with managing the phone’s brightness manually (or using one of many widgets available for the purpose in Android Market), the device looks just right for a budget phone, especially when it comes to QWERTY sliders.

These are the officially declared specs by Samsung that we came across. The price of this handset isn’t expected to be too high and should fall between the range of $100 to $200.
