We reported earlier that iOS 4.0.1 will soon be released and once you upgrade to iOS 4.0.1, you will not be able to downgrade to iOS 4 on your jailbroken iPhone 3G/3GS [old bootrom], iPod Touch 2G and iPhone 4. So, it is advisable to save the SHSH Blogs of your device by using TinyUmbrella or Cydia.
In order to save these SHSH Blobs on your jailbroken iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod Touch 2G, you will need to launch Cydia and then tap on “Make My Life Easier” tab. Follow the onscreen instruction to save the blobs.
It is also important that you save iPhone 4 SHSH blobs because with iOS 4.0.1 update, you will not be able to revert your device to iOS 4. There is no jailbreak available for iPhone 4 [although one has been achieved but details aren’t out yet] so you will have to use TinyUmbrella in order to save SHSH Blobs.
The method to save SHSH Blobs on iPhone 4 is pretty simple when using TinyUmbrella. All you will need to do is to download this file and execute it. Follow the onscreen instructions to save your Blobs and you can save them to Cydia servers as well as make a local copy. It is advisable to install the latest Sun Jave JRE before launching TinyUmbrella.
