Thanks to the shopping season, every other app you come across in iPhone’s App Store these days is likely to be about shopping and how to get items at the best price. People do like to get more for less money and these shopping apps strive to give you just that. Savvy is another addition to such apps and aims to help users in getting their money back if a store reduces its price even after you have bought the item.
Not only can Savvy get you easy price reductions, but it also performs all the usual shopping app tasks. The My Buys section of the app is where you can store your scanned receipts and Savvy will automatically track the product’s price evolution. If the price drops, your receipt will automatically be forwarded to the store where you purchased the item and you will get the money back. There is a slight catch, though; Savvy only supports about 40 stores for now (including Disney, Pet Barn and Best Buy).
The other really useful feature offered by Savvy is Deal Maker. This means that if an item is on your wish list, but is out of your price range monetarily, you can add it to this section and specify a price you can afford. Whenever the item’s price drops to the price you specified, you will be notified and that item can be ordered from the app. Savvy is available for free on the iTunes App Store. The app is only compatible with the iPhone, so you won’t be able to find it on the iPod Touch or iPad App Store.
