Finally Skype has been updated to work smoothly with iOS 4.0. This update actually allows the users to access their VoIP calls from anywhere on the phone with all thanks for the iOS 4.0 multitasking feature. You can check your iPhone’s App Store to see if there is an update available and simply install this free update using the usual method.
This is what the official Skype update description states:
Run Skype in the background with multitasking in iOS4. Receive Skype calls and IM while other apps are running or when your iPhone is locked. You can also continue your call while you switch to another application. Multitasking is available only with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.
Apart from this, the myths of Skype charging for Skype-to-Skype calls has also been dismantled. You can make free VoIP calls to other Skype contacts without paying and dime as usual. Obviously Skype calls to mobile and landlines will be charged as before.
