There’s certainly no shortage of some very useful apps for students in the Android Market. Some are aimed at helping the students take their notes while others are developed for the purpose of helping them prepare better for exams. EQSolve is a free educational app for Android that is a welcoming addition to the already fast growing list of apps in the said genre. EQSolve comes with a unique yet very purposeful concept of helping students solve some of the most well-known (yet equally perplexing) Mathematical, Trigonometric and scientific equations on their devices. For this, it presents you with as many as a dozen different most commonly required equations that you can avail to reach solutions to the relevant problems with ease.
Sines, cosines, tangents, joules, constants, variables and all…. A student’s life surely doesn’t get any easier with so many diverse formulas and equations to keep in mind along with remembering the right way to carve out a desired solution. But why waste your time and energy trying to solve prolonged and complex equations with pen and paper when you can do it on your Android device? Ranging from the notorious Trigonometric Equations to the Ohm’s Law, EQSolve helps you reach quick and accurate answers to almost all the popular equations known to date.
The process is simple. Just launch the app and hit the select an equation… button to see the dropdown menu that contains all available equations listed by their names. As of this writing, these are the 15 equations supported by the app:
- Boyle’s Law
- Charles’ Law
- Coulomb’s Law
- Einstein’s Equation of General Relativity
- Hooke’s Law
- Hubble’s Law
- Ideal Gas Law
- Newton’s Law of Gravitation
- Newton’s Second Law
- Ohm’s Law
- Pythagoras’ Theorem
- Snell’s Law
- Trigonometry: (sine, cosine & tanget)
As evident from the screenshots above, all you need in order to make EQSolve work is select an equation that you require to work with, check the variable you wish to find out, fill in the remaining/known parameters and tap Calculate. All the formulas are readily available for use, meaning that you don’t have to worry about getting your equations right in order to get to the desired answers. Thankfully, there are no extensive configurations to worry about, no sifting through a slew of menus, or hectic rules to follow. That said, there are a few areas where the app can improve considerably. For instance, not only can it be made better in terms of aesthetics, but the pool of available equations and formulas can also be expanded.
