Windows Phone 7 has pretty deep Office integration and OneNote renders the use of other note-taking apps pretty much redundant. But nothing is perfect and there are gaps in usability which third-party apps can take advantage of and add to their own arsenal of features. Note Well is one such app which strives to bring some of the features that are not present in the Office hub by default. Using this free app, you can add images to the notes you write and tag people from your contacts list in your notes.
The app has a pretty minimalistic interface to say the least, and focuses mainly on getting the task done without much fuss. After launching it, you need to tap the ‘+’ button at the bottom of the screen to create a new note. Now comes the part which sets Note Well apart from other apps of its kind. To add media to your notes, bring up the options menu (by tapping the three dots in the bottom bar) and select the add image option to add pictures or tags to the note.
Choosing the image option will take you straight to the Photos hub. The image you select will not be visible while you edit the note, unfortunately, but you will see it merged with the note once it has been saved. Same is the case with contacts tagging.
After finishing a note, you have the option to save it to your phone or share it with your friends via SMS (if you have MMS services enabled, of course) or through email.
