Verizon, in collaboration with HTC, is now in the process of pushing out official Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread for Droid Incredible. The news comes from Verizon Support Portal where usual software update announcement is available. The update will enhance your phone’s build number to 4.06.605.2 along with Baseband i.e. 2.15.10.07.07. This major upgrade is set to enhance the over all usability of your Droid Incredible by incorporating these changes and new features:

Properly save audio files from MMS messages.

The update will be rolling out over the air which means that you will prompted to upgrade when it is available for your phone. Once you are notified that a system update is available on your device, pull down the notification bar and tap on System Update Available notification. Now read through the screen and tap on Download. Once the download is complete, tap on Restart and Install tab on the screen. Installation will begin after 10 seconds and you will be able to see the installation progress through progress bar.
For users with root, it is advised to stay away from this update and wait for a custom ROM that comes integrated with changes and features available in their official roll out. Installing this update from Verizon can be dangerous for users with root as there are chances that you can brick your device in the process.
