Windows Phone 7 Ready: RTM Roll Out Begins

Windows-phone-7

It seems as if the wait for Windows Phone 7 is about to end as Microsoft today has released the RTM –Release To Manufacturing version to different manufacturers. These “manufacturers” include carries, software development concerns and Microsoft enterprise networks. According to Windows Phone 7 development team, this mobile platform is the most comprehensive, glitch-free and stable OS designed to date.

The development engineers spent “over half a million” hours in “active self-hosting” and gazillion of hours testing stability and usability. With this being said, it is pretty evitable that Windows Phone 7 handsets will be available for public consumption in early October.

Here is what Windows Team blog has to say about Windows Phone 7:

Windows Phone 7 is the most thoroughly tested mobile platform Microsoft has ever released.  We had nearly ten thousand devices running automated tests daily, over a half million hours of active self-hosting use, over three and a half million hours of stress test passes, and eight and a half million hours of fully automated test passes.  We’ve had thousands of independent software vendors and early adopters testing our software and giving us great feedback. We are ready.

Here are some Windows phone 7 handsets that might give you a peek into what hardware will come studded with this seemingly “pearl” of an OS.
