The ever-increasing number of cloud storage services and their respective mobile clients can leave users thinking “how many is too many”. Just last month, Zoolz, BitDefender Safebox and Comodo Cloud joined the foray to compete with the likes of Dropbox and Box. However, with Google now working on its very own online data backup solution, Google Drive, you can easily tell that there is still plenty of room available for more services to attract the attention of users with attractive offers and solutions of their own, which is perhaps one of the reasons cloud storage and sharing service Yuuwaa is looking to expand its reach.
The service has a neatly designed website that caters for your online data storage needs quite adequately. There is the option to store your personal computer files in custom folders, create photo albums and share content with your contacts through the website itself. Each registered member gets a maximum of 2GB of free online storage space. You can expand your storage by upgrading to various annual subscription packages offered by the service.
It’s been about 5 months since YuuWaa released its official iOS client in the iTunes App Store, and now, it is available on Android as well. The recently-released official Android client of YuuWaa supports adding multiple YuuWaa accounts, and lets you remotely access, browse, search for and manage your personal cloud content right from your device.
Using the mobile app, you can upload/download data to/from your personal YuuWaa account, and share the best content with your friends and family on the go. Needless to say, only registered YuuWaa users can access the mobile app’s features. Signing up for a new account is free, and can be done from within the app. The app follows more or less the same theme as any of its existing counterparts, that is, you can use it for browsing, downloading and searching for your personal YuuWaa cloud content. Moreover, you can create new folders and upload content from your mobile device to them, sort data in multiple ways, and share required files with ease.
Provided you’ve associated multiple YuuWaa accounts with the app, you’re prompted at launch to log in to the service using the desired account details. The app’s homescreen comprises three different tabs, namely Online (lists your personal cloud content), Delete (displays deleted cloud content) and Search (help you with searching for cloud content manually).
The app’s simple interface sports a dedicated image gallery to let you explore your photos in full screen. As far as other file types are concerned, all you need to download them is tap their title. Data downloaded via the app can be found within the selected username’s folder in the YuuWaa\Online directory on your device’s local storage/SD card.
To upload files, create new folders, sort data, check your total/consumed cloud storage space, or refresh the app’s content manually, tap Menu.
Can’t see any valid reason to store your personal content on cloud? The app’s official demo video below demonstrates more than one reason to use a reliable online data backup solution.
