AddictiveTips Completes 1 Year And Some Personal Opinion

On 23rd August exactly 365 days ago, I started AddictiveTips blog as a way to help others better understand software. Slowly it also evolved into something more, writing tips and tweaks to help solve problems that arise in various operating systems. Today there are a total of 1,105 posts with more than 2,300 comments.

I would like to thank all readers who have made AddictiveTips an excellent place for software reviews. If you read a post on this blog and subscribed to keep tab on more interesting software reviews and tips, I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

If you are wondering what makes AddictiveTips different from other blogs, then you are not the first person with this doubt. Simply show me one blog which is dedicated at searching and reviewing free software all day long. The fact that made made me start this blog was that nobody is serious about thousands of free software available from freelancers.

When you search for a software such as ‘Document Management’ in Google, you will find hundreds of results filled with corporate software that will ask anywhere between $40 to $200 for a personal license which is simply non-affordable by the masses. What these companies actually do is spend hundreds and some even thousands of dollars to fill every keyword and use every SEO trick to come on top in search results, therefore burying freelancers who have developed some great document management software for free. In this way users are brainwashed and have no choice but to buy the software from these corporate mafias, at the same time the independent developers don’t get enough coverage and attention.

This is all going to change very soon in the future, in the coming days you will see some further slight changes to this website that will give it a more software-friendly look. If you have developed a free software or written a script to help other users, there will be a button to share it as well.

Note that if you find a software useful, then you must donate(only if there is a donation button) to the developer because it keeps the development of that software afloat. Donations are a great way to say Thank You to the developers.

And if you want to say a big thank you to the team behind AddictiveTips, simply leave a comment. ;) Enjoy!

Great stuff dude! I appreciate the fact that you encourage people to donate the developers for their hard work. Also you do a great job in providing them some sort of user base for their software with good detailed reviews. Really like your work and hope Addictive Tips keeps growing n growing! =)

Addictive Tips is one of the best resources have found till date for finding new free software that does the job. It is especially helpful that the author takes time to test the apps on Windows 7. This website is so good that I had to drop my idea of starting a similar website after seeing the quality of content posted here. Also I would like to mention that after numerous failed attempts to get going with Ubuntu, I finally managed to get Ubuntu to work to my liking after following the gems posted here. Kudos to the author. Excellent job.
