Ever since Apple’s App Store launched, people were in search of a good Wikipedia App for iPhone. Today, Wikimedia Foundation has launched an offical iPhone application for Wikipedia. This application is free and can be downloaded from the App Store now (iTunes link).
According to the official description “This app is foucused on being very simple and very fast”. But as a matter of fact some early users have been criticising its simplicity. However, the plan is to add features to the open source app in line with user requests.
A couple of good features include auto complete as you type which means that you may not have to type out the full search term of what you are looking for. Another nice feature is that you can click the button with the arrow at the bottom of the screen, and you’ll be shown a list of the links that are found within the article. It also works in landscape mode, and you can navigate both forward and backward.

Go ahead and give it a try. Enjoy!
