Adobe Reader Comes To WP8; Brings Pass-Protected PDF & In-File Search Support

Shazam surprised almost all Windows Phone users by suddenly coming back from the dead (in terms of WP development) and releasing a new version for WP8 devices. Adobe Reader has been around for WP7 for even longer than Shazam, so there wasn't much reason for anyone to really hope for a WP8-exclusive update of the app. Thankfully though, the update has arrived, and although it isn't hugely different from the Mango variant of the app, there are some things that might make the new Adobe Reader for Windows Phone a permanent fixture on many devices. The app can open and save PDFs from a number of sources including email, Office, Internet Explorer and even some third-party apps. You can also view password-protected files in Adobe Reader - something that has caused issues for Windows Phone users in the past. Adobe Kuler For iPhone Lets You Create Color Themes From Images Or Your Surroundings

Some people are tone deaf, others just fail trying to mix, match, contrast, or create color combinations. This might pose a problem for people in everyday life and occasionally, for designers who have hit a wall trying to come up with a good theme. One really easy way to come up with a great color theme is to look at your surroundings for inspiration; anything from a soothing landscape to the floral arrangement on your desk can be instrumental in finding a nice combination of colors to use in your project, and Adobe’s new iOS app Adobe Kuler is is a helpful tool that lets you do just that. The app, which is available for free in the App Store, lets you take pictures and detects the different colors in them to give you a theme. You can either snap an image and extract color themes from it, use an image from your camera roll to do the same, point your camera at anything in the room and have the app pick colors from the input, live, or use the built-in color wheel to create themes from scratch. There can be no denying the fact that Adobe Ideas is nowhere near as feature-rich as Photoshop Touch for iOS, but regular users of Illustrator are sure to appreciate the convenience Ideas can bring to their life. The app isn't an iOS variant of Illustrator, but is often useful if you want to start with a basic idea on your iPhone or iPad, and can’t wait till you get your hands on a desktop. There isn't a lot you can do in Ideas, but the tools are enough to create a layout for a decent free form vector illustration. The previously covered video highlights app Givit belongs to a category that has yet to see a lot of development. Fortunately though, a big name has finally shown interest in the genre by coming up with a nice highlights compilation app of its own. Adobe’s VideoBite could be labeled as a very simple video editor, but that might be overstating its functionality a bit. Basically, this iOS app lets you combine parts of different videos into a single clip. You can mark a particular moment as a ‘highlight’ while recording, or choose parts from videos that already exist in the camera roll of your device. This app is part of CleVR website, so you will have to first sign-up with them and then click Stitch A Panorama to download the app. By signing up you get additional benefits, such as uploading your created panorama and then sharing it with friends, family, and co-workers.

Once the app has been installed, you can login with the Clever account so that you can upload the panoramas later, but this is just an optional feature. Drag your photos to the empty box or click Choose Images, there are no limits on the number of pictures you can add.
