Spotify Introduces Web Player For Streaming Music & Radio Online

Most online services start out with a web interface and work their way up to desktop and mobile apps. Spotify did the exact opposite; it started out with desktop and mobile apps and has just introduced a web player that is slowing being rolled out to different Spotify accounts. Regardless whether or not you have a paid subscription to the service or just a free one, you should be able use the web interface which lets you play music, listen to and create different radio stations, and manage playlists. The interface is stunning yet simple although it might be a little crowded if you use it on a smaller screen. The web player consists of four sections; a section bar at the far left that allows you to move to your playlists, the radio, or check out what’s new, the section to its left shows additional controls for the tab you’re in whereas the last two larger ones list your music and showcase the music player. The web player and the new web interface bear little resemblance to its desktop app. Read More

ClickGaGa is yet another such solution for Windows OS that enables its users to not only listen to various radio stations but also instantaneously grab their favorite tunes from the radio with an integrated sound record function. PopBot Automatically Identifies & Records Songs From Online Radio Stations [Android]

We all love our personal music collection, but there comes a time when you feel like supplementing this collection with some fresh tracks. That is where all the those music discovery and radio streaming apps and web services come into play. While there are several comprehensive radio streaming apps for Android, there are few that also support recording an entire stream of music being played on a station. That said, there are a couple of issues with employing the latter as a means to listen to the latest music. First of all, such a feature mostly comes tied with a hefty price tag. Secondly, while you might prefer a stream of non-stop music, you'd have to tolerate prolonged DJ banter and annoying advertisements. Not only would this waste your time (as you manually skip through these parts), the resulting files would occupy more space on your device's storage than you would want. Fresh to the Google Play Store, PopBot is a fine-looking, comprehensive and free radio streaming app that claims to be able to separately record each individual song in a radio station's stream. Beem For WP7: Stream Dance, Trance & Techno Music From DI.FM Radio

A lot of people might disagree, but in my humble opinion Windows Phone 7 has got the best stock music player when it comes to smartphone platforms. However, Android and iOS have the advantage of having a host of third-party apps to replace the stock player, whereas the apps for Mango aren’t as good. Fortunately, WP7’s lack of good apps is being rectified gradually, and the Marketplace has become home to a number of well-developed apps. Beem is one such app that is not a music player, but rather a client for a radio broadcaster, DI.FM. Having said that, the app will let you listen to your favorite music, specially if you are a fan of trance or fast-paced music genres. The interface of the app is really good, and streams songs at a pretty efficient rate. Read More
