Last year in December, we covered an app called DaisyDisk worth $9.99, which is well beyond the upper price point for paid apps and easily warranted a giveaway. For those who missed our giveaway, or didn’t score a license, here is a free alternative. DiskScanner is a Mac app that does pretty much what DaisyDisk did; it gives you a graphical overview of disk space consumption in a pie-graph, where each folder is represented by a section of the disc. The size of the section corresponds to the amount of memory the file/folder occupies. You can scan all types of folders and mounted disk drives using this app, and easily browse folders.
