Established in 2007, SoundCloud is arguably the most popular online audio distribution platform for collaboration, promotion and distribution of audio content by artists and music promoters. While the web version of the platform is a no brainer for anyone who is familiar with the service, we don’t usually come across a lot of desktop applications catering to SoundCloud. For that reason, when we stumbled across Scup (short for SoundCloud Uploader), we considered it worthy of being taken for a spin. In its essence, Scup is an Adobe AIR-based, cross-platform application that lets you upload multiple tracks to your SoundCloud account and create a set on the fly. The application supports specifying all necessary parameters, such as genre, set and track types, license, record label etc, making your sets ready for publishing in every sense.

When launched for the first time, Scup will present you with an authentication box, requiring connection with your SoundCloud account. Hit the Yes please, move ahead button to launch the authentication page in your default browser. If you are not logged into SoundCloud at present, do so at this point.

The browser pane will ask you for a confirmation of the operation, after which you will be given a unique authentication code. Enter that in Scup, and your account should be linked. In our experience, copy/pasting the code didn’t work, and you’ll need to manually key it in for Scup to recognize.

With authentication out of the way, you will be greeted by Scup’s main interface. Please note that this interface is all that is to this application, as there are no options or customizations. Everything that you get in this interface should cater to all your SoundCloud uploading needs, and you can not only batch upload tracks, but also specify their parameters, such as the genre, set and track type, license version, keywords, record label, release number, release date, EAN/UPC and buying link for the set.

To begin, drap and drop audio files over Scup and define the parameters for the whole set. Some fields under More Options are text entries, while others will let you select one from the drop-down menus. As soon as you drop files, they will start uploading to your SoundCloud account.

You may also configure these parameters for individual tracks by clicking the arrow next to each file’s name in the list. This will expand the view, bringing the same fields for individual tracks. Scup will even let you add album art to your set, making it ready for publishing in almost every sense. The bottom panel of the application lets you control settings such as sharing, making originals downloadable and allowing 128 kbps streaming.

As with all Adobe AIR applications, Scup has a really pleasing outlook. The application is quite user-friendly, and since it is based on an open platform, it will work on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, provided you have Adobe AIR installed. Testing was done on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit version.

There are a myriad of screenshot capturing tools available for Mac, and while the native screenshot functionality isn’t bad either, all you need to do is hide the abnormally wide window shadows that it adds, and you’re all set. As far as simple screenshots are concerned, you will find most apps, free or paid, to be effective, but when it comes to sharing a screenshot, very few will integrate the feature. Gyazo is a Mac app that lets you capture any part of your screen, uploads the screenshot to its online server, opens it in your browser, and copies the URL to your clipboard.

The app has no interface to speak of; when you launch it, it appears in the Dock and transforms your cursor into a crosshair. Drag the crosshair across the area you want to capture. If you hit the Esc key, the app will exist automatically.

Wait for a brief moment, and your default browser will pop up with a new tab. Your image will be uploaded to the service, and if you right-click and paste or Command+V in any text or search box, the URL of the open tab will be pasted there, which makes it easier to share on social networks or instant messengers.

The app exits of its own accord, and you will have to launch the app each time you want to use it. There are no preferences that you can set. Images are saved in PNG format, and can be viewed from the web interface. However, to delete them, you will need a pro account. The app uses a free Gyazo account to keep track of your images, and the image preview itself is ad-supported. The pro account, worth $2.99 per month, removes ads, and lets you connect multiple Macs. Grrrabit is a Mac app that had similar functionality, and sported an interface as well.

While users of WP7 and iOS-powered devices are relishing the arrival of Microsoft’s official SkyDrive client on their respective platforms, Android users have been left out in the cold for now. However, as always, the Andriod dev community is quick to deliver an alternative. SkyDrive Browser is a new, free Android app that lets you access your SkyDrive account. The app replicates most of the features that have been offered by Microsoft in its official SkyDrive clients for iOS and WP7 devices. Not only does the app let you browse and manage all the content stored on your SkyDrive account, it also provides you with an effective mechanism for uploading and download files to/from it (with batch selection support). Details to follow.

Using SkyDrive Browser is as simple as it can get. You must first authorize the app to access your account, of course. To do so, select Menu > Login from the app’s homescreen and provide your Windows Live login credentials.

The app’s main interface is split into two halves, much like a dual-pane file manager. In portrait orientation, the bottom half of your screen displays all the directories and files stored on your device’s internal memory as well as SD card, while the upper half is dedicated to displaying your SkyDrive content. At the bottom of both halves, you have various buttons that let you jump to the previous directory, create a new folder, enable/disable batch selection mode, and delete or upload/download files. Please note that the upload, download and delete buttons work only when batch selection mode is enabled.

Long pressing on a file displays a drop down menu that carries options to upload, download or delete it. Doing the same for a file stored on your SkyDrive cloud reveals a Details button that displays brief information about the file.

Hit Menu to manually refresh the app’s content, switch between landscape & portrait orientation or access Settings. There’s not much to tinker within the app’s settings menu; it just allows you to sort the content in your local or SkyDrive storage by date or alphabetical order (ascending or descending).

Although the app supports uploading and downloading all file types, while uploading audio and a couple of other file formats, it changes their extension to .txt. This is not a big issue as you can easily rename the modified file, but still, this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Apart from that, SkyDrive Browser works flawlessly, and is the next best thing to the yet-to-be-released official SkyDrive client for Android (that is, if Microsoft is actually planning to release one).

Ticno Screenshooter is a screenshot taking application for instantly capturing a specific portion, current window or the entire desktop. It has been developed by the developer of Multibar, and for this reason, it automatically integrates with the Multibar dock (if installed). Facebook modified their image uploader a long time ago; the need for the change was the fact that no one has the time to upload a hundred pictures, five at a time. The new uploader allows you to upload any number of images at once. The revamped photo uploader may be better than its predecessor, however, uploading anything online is now best done by dragging & dropping. It’s easier and users who don’t like to click around like nuts might prefer it over the Facebook interface. Facebook Photo Uploader is a Chrome application that lets you create albums by dragging & dropping images on its interface. The app runs in Chrome and requires an active internet connection to upload the images.

Once installed, launch the app from a new tab. The first time you use the app, you will have allow it to connect with your Facebook account. Enter an album name and a description and click Create.

Depending on the size and number of the images, they will be added to the album and you will receive a notification from the app that the images have been added.

You will have to be logged into Facebook for the app to work. It can only be used to add photos to an existing album or to create a new one. Albums that are created using the app follow the more conserve security settings that you have set for your albums.

To upload a file, click the Upload Files button and choose a file (or files) and hit Upload. You can upload multiple files at the same time but upload takes longer for larger files. You can create folders in the existing set of folders that come with your account or create a new root folder by clicking the New Folder button. To sync your files to your desktop, download and install the desktop application.

The desktop application adds a folder Cloud to your desktop and syncs all files to it however, you can set up different devices and folders to monitor on each device and system for any new uploads. The desktop device still has a few kinks in it and syncing can often freeze. To view files in queue or ones that are currently syncing, click the icon in the system tray and select Preferences. File details are visible in the General tab.

The service has an app for both Android and iPhone. You can view and upload files on both devices using the respective apps.The service covers every feature available in Dropbox and it has a more appealing user interface. Given that it can improve it’s syncing feature so that it’s smoother and fix the bugs in the desktop application, it can be a worth using service with its 10GB of storage.

Samsung Focus is one of those newer smartphones which run Windows Phone 7 and is less than a year old. 5. You have to modify this RRC value. To do that press 2 to get a list of possible changes.
6. From that list choose “Release 6 HSDPA/HSUPA” by pressing 3.
7. Select “End” to finish setup.

These simple steps should be enough to give you a visible improvement in your device’s upload speed. The fix has worked for most of the users but a few have reported it to be ineffective.

If you don’t like FTP clients which requires lengthy settings to be configured prior to establishing connection with your FTP server, you will love using dropf. It’s a tiny yet intuitively smart application that lets you upload and share files using an FTP server. It presents a small on-screen upload box to quickly send files, folders, images, text, etc., to your defined FTP servers. Furthermore, it allows managing multiple FTP accounts as well; apparently, there is no limit on number of FTP accounts that can be added, so you can add as many as you want and switch between them with a single click. All you have to do before uploading files is to enter your FTP server details. Once details are verified, you will just have to drag the files and folders over its upload box to send them directly to your FTP server.

Additionally, it can take screenshots and upload them to specified FTP server in one click. You choose the screenshot option and it will capture whole screen area and start uploading it. The built-in URL shortening service makes it convenient for users to share uploaded files and image links with others.

After installation, you will see the on-screen upload box over the system tray. Before you drag files over it, right-click the box and from Ftp Accounts menu, select Manage to add FTP servers details.

In Manage Ftp Accounts window, you need to add host, URL, select mode, and enter login details of FTP server. If you want to manage more than one account, click Add to add details of another FTP server.

Once you’ve done, drag files which you want to upload to FTP server.  You can switch between configured FTP servers from Ftp Accounts menu.

Apart from uploading files from upload box, it can also be integrated to Windows shell Send To menu, allowing one to easily upload files or folders from Windows Explorer. By default, this option is disabled but can be enabled from Settings which is accessible from main menu.

The Filename & Upload Settings tab lets you replace file name for web standards, categorize folders based year/month, put time stamps in file names, and send text residing in Windows clipboard as TXT file.

To upload file(s)/folder(s) from Windows Explorers, select them, right-click any of them, and then click dropf option from Send to menu.

dropf certainly offers a great way to quickly upload files and screenshots to multiple FTP servers. However, it would’ve been more useful if it could add FTP servers separately in Send to menu instead of single dropf option which uploads files to default FTP server.

The previously covered iSendr brought a great idea of making file sharing over the web seamless by offering peer to peer data transfer. Without saving data on any server, recipient can directly fetch the data without relying on the iSendr service response time and on any other factors. Recently two major changes have been made to iSendr, first, the name has been changed to Sendiod, and second, there is a freshly developed desktop app for transferring files and to manage both uploads and downloads. The application offers an overly simple way to upload and download files. It supports simple drag & drop behavior to start uploading collection of files. Once you’ve defined the files to transfer, a pop-up message will appear, showing the shareable link.

Editor’s Note: In this post we will review the Sendoid desktop app only. For online service, just click Choose files to share, select the files, and it will give you a sharable link. It is that simple!

The main interface (of the desktop app) is designed with minimal set of options. You need to drag the files which you want to share with others over the main interface. It will generate a shareable link with option to copy it to clipboard, so you can paste it in any app window. To download files, recipient can either open the link in web browser or paste the link in Claim Code input pane present at right side of window.

It bundles each uploaded file collection in a group. You can check how many times peers have attempted to connect and total number of downloads by hitting View Details from right-click menu. Here, you can quickly find the source folder and remove from the collection.

The default download location is Documents folder. However, application default settings can be changed from Preferences, where you can set download/upload transfer rate and change default download location.

Text uploading is comparatively more intuitive. It doesn’t matter whether you are uploading selected text or text file, it recognizes the text inside the plain text file. Selecting None from Pastebin menu will upload the text in plain format, however, if you you need to share code snippet, select the code and choose the programming language option from its menu to start the process.

During testing, we didn’t find any bugs. ClipUpload has a fast UI and works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.

NeembuUploader is small open source Java-based application to upload file to multiple file hosting services in one go.  It supports 6 widely used file hosting services, including, Easy-Share, FileDropper, FileDude, HotFile, ifile.it. and UploadMB. Since these services don’t necessarily require users to sign up for an account to upload or download data, non-registered users can make use of NeembuUploader to quickly share data over the web. The application is built to be simple, you just have to drag & drop the file to begin uploading to multiple servers simultaneously. Furthermore, the application provides all the essential information about the uploaded files, it can open recently uploaded files, manage accounts, open only selected file upload for verification, and show uploaded and deleted URL addresses.

When running for the first time, it will ask you to enter HotFile account details, however, you can skip this step if files have to be uploaded without being signed in. Files can be selected either manually by clicking Select Files button or by dragging files over input box. Grabilla offers one-click solution for taking screenshots and recording screencasts. The application is developed to let users quickly share screenshots and screencasts over the web without much hassle involved. As far as configurations are concerned, the developer has kept them to bare minimum with a miniscule interface to toggle video mode (screencast mode) On/Off. By default, it takes screenshots and upload them to its native server without requiring user to configure any type of settings. Unlike other screenshot sharing tools which copies shareable link to Windows clipboard to let user paste link in browser or any other application, it uploads screenshot quickly to server and then open the link in default browser as soon as screen area gets captured. Recording and sharing screencasts is a cinch, all that is required is to enable the Video mode and specify screen area.

The main interface pops-up over system tray with current mouse location being zoomed-in. If you’re planning to upload and share screenshot, just select an area to capture, it will open the shareable link with uploaded image in default browser. Nevertheless, video mode can be enabled to record screencast in similar fashion.

After you’ve done recording screencast, it allows you to save it to hard drive, upload directly to server or open media player immediately to watch the video.

FTP Scheduler is a portable utility which lets user upload files to FTP server at scheduled intervals. Earlier, we have reviewed a handful of file uploading applications such as, FluffyApp and Click & ShareIt, the FluffyApp is the counterpart of Mac’s eminent CloudApp whereas Click & ShareIt lets user upload and share files, images, and record voice on the fly. NoCap comes with absolutely no caps and catches, without relying on its native server for storing and sharing data, it supports famous file sharing and uploading services including, Imgur, Imagebin, Postimage, SendSpace, and Slexy to upload images, text, screenshots, and any type of files in a snap. Additionally, it enables one to enter the FTP server details to upload files directly. The application seems quite similar to FluffyApp, as it also allows user to take and share screenshots whilst using build-in URL shortening service – is.gd.

Before starting out, it’s advisable to configure account settings. After the installation, Settings window can be brought up from system tray. Under Defaults, you need to enter account details of the service which you wish to use for uploading Files, Images and Text. However, if you’re planning to upload files to FTP server, enter FTP details in File uploader window.

The Bindings tab refers to registering hotkey for uploading screenshots and clipboard content. Just enter the default link and press the combination to register a new hotkey.

Once everything is set up, start uploading whatever you want to share with others. Use hotkey combination and it will start uploading the file. Notification regarding the uploading process is shown over the system tray. Once the process is completed, it saves the link in Windows clipboard, allowing user to share file/image/text with anyone over the web. Did we mention that it allows user to take screenshots for quick sharing as well?

It’s worth mentioning here that NoCaps is in beta phase, you may run on some functionality-specific glitches. Testing was done on Windows 7 x64 system while it supports Windows XP/Vista/7.

Picture Dude Image Uploader is not just an application for uploading albums/images, it comes with in-built image editing and re-touching features to make your photos look more the way you want. Effects like, Colors shades, Art effects, Edge enhancements, Blur and sharpen, etc., are also included in the package.

The application interface is nicely designed, flaunting all the options right underneath the imported image, Sadly drag &drop behavior is not supported, so you need to select either files or folder from application’s File menu.

In Effects window, you will find all the image effects categorized in left sidebar. Each category further carries a list relevant effects and styles which can be applied over an image from the pull-down menu. Lastly in Special Effects, you have more out-of-box effects which can revamp your photo through different styles.

Alongside Effects, you will find options to Edit Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and Gamma of selected image whilst tools for image watermarking, cropping, and red-eye reduction are also available.

Once your photo set has been edited, click Upload menu followed by Upload to Facebook. Now enter your Facebook login information and choose the album in which you wish to upload the pictures.

In comparison with aforementioned tools, it doesn’t offer quick uploading to Facebook albums. However, considering the image editing tools set it brings, it is worth giving a shot. It runs on Windows XP/Vista/7, provided you have .Net Framework 4.0 installed. Testing was done on Windows 7 x64 system.

Yogile is a new service that provides ‘easy photo sharing’. It works on the premise that if multiple people have photos belonging to one album, then they should be able to contribute to it themselves instead of one person doing all the effort.

To begin with Yogile, you need to create a new account first. Once you’ve logged into your service control panel, you can choose to create a new album, change your account settings or browse through public albums. An interesting feature of Yogile is the ability to set passwords for individual albums. Generally, all albums are considered public (but you get a unique identifier URL to locate that), but if you specify a password for any album, Yogile will mark it as private, making it accessible only for those that have the password.

While in photo viewing, the service offers various views, slideshow options, ability to download all photos as zip etc, the true power of Yogile comes affront in uploading to the same album. Once you create a private album that people can contribute to, there can be various means to add images. The most obvious is using the website’s own upload tool, but you can also add photos via email or MMS messages. To do so, simply send the images to albumname@yolgile.com and include the album password in the email/message’s subject or body. Yogile will take care of everything else for you.

With a free account, you get a monthly limit of 100MB, which can be expanded by upgrading storage (which costs $24.95 per year). Yogile feels like a welcome addition to the already powerful arsenal of photo sharing community, and we are certain to keep an eye out for this one.

Even though you can keep an archive (which is to be uploaded) under yours scrutiny, it is a bit cumbersome job to always keep track of the files which are to be uploaded or replaced. Log Master is a small application which operates on logging each & every file that you upload, move or replace. Moreover, it can also be considered as a complete management tool for organizing all the files – images, videos, documents, and other media files while keeping a separate log as defined by the user. The application working is based on creating LOG files, accompanied by multiple types of filters.

According to the developer, the application is not necessarily meant for managing website uploads, if someone is facing any difficultly in streamlining one huge pile of files, it can create logs upon specific Entry Type to ensure that nothing will be missed or misplaced.

The Entry Types plays a vital role in managing the folder containing files, there are multiple types you can select from the given list which includes; Changed, Created, Removed, Uploaded, Moved, etc. It is also possible to create a new entry type. All the options and tools to create a user-defined log are given on the interface. For the first time usage, you need to create a new user and if necessary a root directory folder. The application offers handling of 10 users, so you can manage multiple users logs entries under one roof.

The right sidebar holds the main options to manipulate the logs entries, for adding files to the log which is being created, click Add Files To Entry, you can add files in bulk and create a log to track-back all the selected files anytime in future. The Entry Types are listed on the left side, before saving a log file, you can either change the Entry Type or keep the default option enabled – Changed. All the content and entries of the current log can be seen in the main window, it will also show you the reason of new log entry being created.

Furthermore, it comes with two types to view log files, the Read Only Log Viewer keeps log file locked, preventing user from changing log entries, other option is Raw Log which lets user make appropriate alterations to current log file. You can also manually save the log files, aside from saving entries in TXT format, it offers native rlog format for better handling of log entries.

During our testing, it worked seamlessly on Windows 7 x86 system, while it supports Windows XP/Vista/7.

The best part is that it seamlessly integrates with Droplr, so synchronization can also be done with your Mac and iPhone device. In a nutshell, any files that are saved in Mac or iPhone using Droplr can be accessed by WinDroplr, and vice versa. According to the developer, you can “quickly access the files you saved from any of your devices”.

Since Twitter integration plays a pivotal part in Droplr’s fame, the Windows supported variant also integrates with Twitter, allowing you to share anything with your followers without any hassle involved.

Because the application is highly inspired or shall I say an exact copy of Droplr, it emulates the very same usage behavior. Running it for the first time prompts you to enter Twitter account login and password, once credentials are verified, you’re good to go. You will see the application lying in the system tray, above it, a small drop box supports drag & drop behavior to begin uploading and sharing right away. Just grab a file, image, text, URL, or note, and drop it over.

Once uploaded, it will notify you the about the link, indicating that file has been uploaded. Now just click the pop-up bubble to copy that link to clipboard.

You can share the recently uploaded file with anyone, just provide the recipient with generated link to let that person view or download the file.

Just like Droplr, other fascinating facets are that it supports taking screenshots, offers notes composition and lets user view all the previous drops, so you can pick out any of the previously shared/uploaded item. Additionally, pre-defined hotkeys support make it further usable and easy. All these features can be accessed from its system tray right-click context menu.

The note taking environment is utterly simple, with option to enter text either as plain text, markdown or in code styling. After you’ve done with writing a small note, click Upload to let it generate a shareable link for you.

It is further possible to change the opacity of the drop box. You can also hide it while uploading is in progress, let it start with Windows logon, and enable/disable startup notifications. The Twitter account that you’ve configured at startup can also be changed from Settings dialog.

In short, WinDroplr has proved to be one perfect application, bringing all the nifty features of Droplr to Windows. In the developer’s own words, it is “the only useful piece of software I’ve ever written”. Below is a short video demonstration showing the working of WinDroplr.

The application works seamlessly on Windows 7 x86 system without showing any problems and lags in uploading files. It runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, provided you have .Net Framework 4.0 installed already.

CloudApp is a minuscule application for Mac, which is by far the most famous tool for uploading files into the cloud. Windows users have been deprived of a good CloudApp program until we came across FluffyApp. The usage is astonishingly similar, users can upload files by dragging them over its system tray’s icon. Similarly, it also offers users to upload screenshots on the fly without having to manually specify the image file, just take a screenshot (press PrintScreen) and it will start uploading the image to its live server.

Another identical feature is URL auto-shortening, which enables users to share the links with an ease. To begin, all you need is to sign up (just enter email account information) and then login to start uploading. Once the desktop application is installed, it will sit in system tray and emulates the same CloudApp behavior for uploading files, i.e you need to drag a file over its icon to begin uploading.

The application is equally responsive too, it will notify you about the uploading status.

Adding more, you can view all the uploads and delete them right from the system tray right-click menu, it lets user open uploaded file in a default web browser, copy primary & content URL, and delete the file.

A click on Open web interface will lead you to CloudApp account manager, where it categorizes the uploads into several groups while offering options to bookmark URL (to shorten URL) and upload files.

Uploading screenshot has never been easy before, you can use the traditional way of taking screenshots, i.e, PrintScreen for capturing whole screen area and Alt+PrintScreen to capture active application. Once captured, it will upload the image and notify you instantly.

As of now, hotkey registration functionality and plug-in support is in pipeline. We tested the application successfully on Windows 7 x86 system, while it supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Window 7.

Here’s a useful plug-in that will help those particularly who use both Facebook and Google Picasa. Uploading and sharing photos through Facebook is one of the most popular social networking activities, and if you often rely on Google’s Picasa to keep your photo collection organized, nothing can be more convenient than to show off that last weekend party by uploading the pictures to Facebook directly from Picasa.

Picasa Uploader is a free plugin for Picasa which adds the ability to publish your selected photos directly to Facebook. All you need to do is associate your Facebook account with the uploader, and with one click of a button your photos will be online in no time. Please note that you need at least Picasa 2.5 or later for this to work.

Using the plug-in is simple. Once you click ‘Install Plugin” (link provided at the end of this review), you will be prompted with a dialog box with a new Facebook button. Select it and click Add, and the button will appear in your Picasa tray.

With the button in place, select the photos you want to upload to your Facebook account and click the blue Facebook button. For first time usage, you will be asked to associate your account with the plugin, but subsequent uploads will be a breeze. As soon as you confirm the upload, a progress bar will show how the upload process goes.

You get to choose which Facebook album you want the pictures to be uploaded to, or you can create a new album. If a name is not specified for the new album, Picasa will create one named “Picasa Photos” and put the pictures in them.

Finally you need to approve these photos to be published to your Facebook newsfeed, thus giving you complete control over the upload process. Once Picasa has done uploading the images, you will be taken to a page where you can confirm that you want your photos to show up.

Picasa Uploader is a free plugin that does not require any other software except Picasa 2.5 or later. We tested this plugin on Windows 7 32-bit OS with Google Chrome 5.0.375.86 and Picasa 3.6.0.

Previously, we covered a Google Chrome extension that simplified the process of taking and sharing web screenshots. This time around we bring you a tool that enables sharing of screenshots not only for web pages but for any application in Windows. Presenting ScreenCatch.

This utility allows you to take screenshots from within any application, crop it and upload it to the developer’s servers, where it can be publically viewed. After upload the user is provided with the web link, or can alternately save the image to their system.

This tool sits in the system tray from where it can be operated and used to capture the current screen. Simply double-click the tray icon to get a snapshot of the currently active screen. You can crop the image to speed-up the upload or to show only the area of interest.

Once you have modified the screenshot as per your requirements, press the upload button to begin the upload.

Completion of the upload brings you an option to either copy the image’s URL to clipboard or visit the image in a webpage. On the page, comments are available which can be used to initiate a discussion pertaining to the snapshot. Images can also be linked to user account on the developer’s website. Uploaded images are also time-stamped.

ScreenCatch is portable and works fine on Windows 7. You must however keep in mind that screenshots are public, so it is not advisable to use this tool for sharing personal images.

ZScreen is one awesome tool for Windows that has recently grabbed my attention. It not only allows you to take simple screenshots and save them to clipboard, rather it lets you upload the screenshot to multiple services online too. And if you have a server, it can upload it there too provided you have assigned the FTP credentials.

The feature that sets it apart from other similar tools is customizability, you can choose the type of image to be taken, use it with 3rd party editing tools, perform various quick actions, assign hotkeys for various tasks, view History and much more.

By default it is assigned to upload all screenshots taken to ImageShack, you can change this when started the tool for the first time. This option can obviously be changed later too.

You can choose the copy to clipboard options both from the system tray and the main window.

You will find features such as watermark, color picker, auto snapshot, crop shot, and much more already build into this tool.

Uploading the screenshots to Imageshack or TinyURL is a bit tricky. First select them from the Image Destination list and then hit Print Screen button on your keyboard. After a few seconds a balloon notification will pop-up notifying you that the upload is complete.

To access this screenshot, double-click the system tray icon to bring the main menu, now go to History tab and select any screenshot. You will find both it’s local and remote destination.

One of the best feature of this tool is crop shot, hit Ctrl + Print Screen and select the area which you want to capture. It will show you both the area you have selected in pixels and also it’s exact location along with width and height.

Overall, its a great tool that you shouldn’t miss but is a little resource hungry. Even if you are using some other tools, you should still give this one a go.

For years, startups have been trying to create a reverse image search engine, but have not been successful so far. TinEye is the only reverse image search engine that actually works. At first I shrugged it off since I knew the results won’t be as accurate as they calm, but I was wrong. Unlike Google Image Search, TinEye uses image identification technology rather than using keywords, watermarks, or metadata.

Just upload an image, or enter the URL of the image, it will then search the database for similar images and display the results immediately. The results during my testing came out to be surprisingly accurate.

On the results page you will find your image on top, followed by other similar results. You can also see further details such as size, resolutions, format, name, and URL of the page where it is located.

So how is this useful? Well, you can check who else is using the image, who is the author behind this image, find better resolutions of this image, and discover modified version of the image. Most importantly, you can find out which webpage is using your image that you created. To search images from any website, you can install the browser plugin or bookmarklet. Enjoy!
