Get User Response On App Ideas & Preview Upcoming Apps On PreApps

In the last few years, we have seen tremendous growth in the mobile apps market, specially in Android and iOS. With the release of Windows 8 came Windows Store, another app market with a great potential because of the huge user base of Windows. When new developers launch their apps in one of these markets, they are faced with the problem of making a place for themselves among the already popular apps of the same genre. For instance, someone making a browser for Android will have to compete with the likes of Chrome, Opera and Dolphin HD. Since these apps have already made their name and provide users with a lot of features, investing all that time and money in app development and then not receiving positive feedback can be very demotivating. PreApps is a web-service for developers to upload their app ideas before launching them on the market, and for users to preview upcoming apps, rate them and post comments. Developers can upload the description of the app, with screenshots and videos, polls about the app price, and choose people for beta testing. Users can then rate the app based on the given information and provide their feedback on the available or missing features. Read More

Chrome Assistant Converts Speech To Executable Browsing Commands

Chrome recently integrated speech commands, and many apps and services are now being developed to either make use of the feature or to improve it.  Chrome Assistant is a web service that converts speech to executable commands; it allows you to open different sites based on the pre-loaded commands, look up your current location or find the local weather. It simplifies sending complex commands via speech by integrating them in to a single command. If you wanted to visit Facebook, all you'd have to do is to say ’Facebook’ in your microphone to see what your friends are up to. The service also deciphers voice commands other than the ones pre-loaded to it, though with somewhat less accuracy. The service does not yet have a URL that you can remember easily, which is why the best way of getting to it would be to download the Chrome Assistant app from the Chrome web store. Read More

Share Large Files via Email By Uploading Them To WinZip Servers

There are many web services that allow sending large files via email. Such services often upload the attachment to their servers, and provide a URL of the file to the recipient. Unfortunately, these services are often restricted by a 25MB (in general) upload limit. Recently, WinZip has come up with a new service christened ZipSend, which allows up to 2 GB (per email) of file transfer. Before you get carried away, however, it is worth mentioning that the 2GB limit is only available in the paid version, while the lite (free) version provides up to 50MB of free upload. What ZipSend basically does is that, it zips attached files and sends a link to the recipient to download the file from WinZip servers. This means that you can avoid flooding your friend’s account with heavy mails, and also circumvent the 25MB upload limit. What makes ZipSend quite unique from other web services of it’s kind, is the fact that it provides a plugin that integrates with MS Outlook, as well as Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo mail. Read More

JustBeamIt is a web application that allows file transfer without any sign up whatsoever. It offers simple Peer to Peer (P2P) file transfer that gives you a download link to share with anyone. Upload And View Your Comic Collection Online With All Comics

We have previously reviewed a number of comic reader such as QManaga and ComicRack. While desktop comic readers provide a convenient interface for reading comics, they do not ensure mobility of your comic book collection. This is because of the fact that access to the comic book collection is limited by a number of reasons such as the supported platform (e.g. a particular operating system such as Windows) of the comic reader. It would be much more convenient if one can access the comic book collection on the go from anywhere via web. Read More
