Have you ever thought of saving time and money by replacing meetings with teleconferencing services? These are the services through which enterpretuers can control every operation of the business spread all over the globe and it can be a valuable alternative when geography and logistics make it impossible for all the participants to be in the same room. Setting up conference call services is the most effective way to arrange a trans-continental business meeting. Or you can call your friends if you are too lazy.
Here are some options through which you can start teleconferencing for free:
Foonz – Call a Group !
Foonz.com is a teleconferencing service that allows you to make unscheduled conference calls and also to blast voice-mail messages to multiple recipients which makes it ideal for party organizers. Whenever you want to start a group call, it instantly invites people to join your call by sending a text message to their mobile phones. You can also send a recorded message for the whole group instead of a call and it will invite all the other users to call in and hear your message. This service could be a great tool for teams, businesses, and families who all want to talk to together at the same time.
Update: Foonz is no longer in service.
Rondee – Its your call
Rondee allows you to connect easily with a group of people on the phone with web-based scheduling and attendance tracking. To set up your own teleconference just sign up and become a user, select a date on the calendar, then a time, then choose the theme or topic of your call, and give a brief description. All you have to do now is to invite people to the conference and you are ready to go. When time of the conference arrives each invitee dials 619-2-RONDEE (619-276-6333) and then enters his/her code. Each user gets a code that they can use for future conferences.
InstantConference – Ready When You Are
To start teleconferencing using InstantConference all you have to do is to set up a user account and provide an email address. Apart from making conference calls this service also allows dictation or recording of the conversation, to dictation anytime during the conference, the host can enter the nine (9) push button and will next be prompted to enter the subscriber pin, to stop recording press the nine (9) knob again. Once the tape is complete, it will remain available until you transcription over it or up to 120 days and you can register an unlimited number of time.
Gizmo5 – Stay in touch, Save some bucks !
Gizmo5 is also a great way to connect with friends and family, as long as the people on the other end are using Gizmo the call is free. In my opinion many people will like the company’s integration with AIM and MSN, which will add his/her buddy list into Gizmo. The requirements for download are such that many people will be able to use Gizmo5 without any upgrades to his/her system. You can download the Gizmo5 application from here. It requires Windows XP or 2000 and also supports Macintosh OS X 10.3.9 and above. Linux users are also supported with Version 220.127.116.11.
Update: Gizmo5 has been acquired by Google and its availability for new users has been discontinued. We can expect Google to integrate it into one of their own products soon.
Gaboogie – Start On Time
Gaboogie is a web based application which can schedule a call for a particular time, all you have to do is to enter the names and numbers of the participants and Gaboogie will call them up at the specified time. The organizer of the conference also gets a very useful online console that lets him or her see who’s on the call and even change the volume of individual lines. You can also dump people off the call and and invite new ones and turn on the recorder, when the call is finished you can easily download the recorded conversation.
