Changing the wallpaper on your computer’s screen after some time is important to keep both your display and your mood fresh. Staring at the same screen over and over makes things pretty boring (at least, for some people). One option is to use the Windows 7 Themes available in the Personalization dialog box, or you can also change the wallpaper manually by searching for an image that you like on Google, downloading it, and setting it up as your background. However, that requires a lot of time and effort, and everybody does not have that much on their hands just for changing a wallpaper. Previously, we have covered some very useful applications for Windows that automatically change your desktop background after a specified interval, such as Mourao Wallpaper Changer, a tool that automates the process of changing the wallpaper after a certain time interval, and Kuvva, an application that automatically downloads a wallpaper from Kuvva website and sets it as your background each day. Today, we have another utility called Wallpaper Downloader that lets you download Bing wallpapers and apply them as your background on a regular basis. Keep reading to find out more about Wallpaper Downloader.
You need to register an account with the service before you can start using the application. Enter you email address and a password to create an account and sign in to the application.
When running, the application looks for new wallpapers from Bing, which, when found, are downloaded to your system. You can manually select an image to set as your desktop background, or choose to automatically change the wallpaper after a specified interval. After each interval, a new wallpaper will be selected and applied from the downloaded database. From the interface, you can choose to use All images, or only the latest 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, or 50 images from Bing. The Picture Position can be set to Fit to Screen, Tile or Center, and the change interval is available from 10 seconds to 12 hours. Moreover, preview is available for every downloaded wallpaper, and you can change the background color directly from the main interface.
The Download all old Bing images option available in the top right corner works only if you have donated something to the developer, making this application ‘donation-ware’. All the other features of the program work flawlessly. Wallpaper Downloader works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
