In order to perform numerous image editing tasks, most users choose to install multiple applications, but having so many tools installed on your system not only creates unnecessary clutter, but also reduces efficiency. If you don’t want the hassle of having to use multiple image editors to perform some basic tasks, you might want to try previously reviewed Converseen, an open-source image converter and resizer that supports more than 100 image formats and allows you to convert, resize and rename an unlimited number of images in one go. However, it lacks the option to save the settings to re-execute the batch image editing operation. Today we have a simple, yet a powerful image manipulation tool called Redimensionneur (Resize image in mass), which allows you to resize images, add a suffix to their names, create thumbnails, and add text and image watermarks. Read on for pertaining details and a few screenshots.

There isn’t much to talk about the interface. The application lets you resize images by specifying required width and height, create thumbnails, add suffixes to both image and thumbnail names, and edit & apply text and image watermarks. All the basic options are available on the main interface of the application. The added images are listed in the top half, while the settings can be accessed from the lower half of the window. To add images, click Add button available in the top right corner and then simply navigate to the folder containing images. Now, configure the application settings according to your requirements, such as specify resolution of the image (Width & Height), toggle Respect ratio and Cut to respect output size etc. and then click Launch the Selected Tasks button to execute all the selected operations in one go. The configuration settings can be saved in a file by selecting the Save option from File Menu.

You can also customize the text and image watermarks according to your preferences. For instance, in text watermark options, you change the typeface, text style, text size, text color and its position on the image (Top left, Top middle, Top right and so on).

Redimensionneur doesn’t offer drag and drop support, nor does it let you preview watermark before applying it to images. We hope that the developer will add these options in the next versions. It works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. Testing was done on Window 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
