Do you find yourself in situations when you desperately need to shrink or enlarge multiple images by any scale factor? If yes, then Picture Barf may lend a helping hand. It is small utility built especially keeping this very need in mind. It holds list of scales ranging from 0.025x to 8x for shrinking and stretching image size in bulk.
Usage is simple as it supports simple drag & drop behavior. You can insert as many images as you want. Once inserted, specify the Output folder along with name prefix. From Scale Factor, you have the option to either shrink or stretch the images’ sizes. For instance, to create thumbnails of images, we have selected Scale Factor 0.125 from the given list. Once all settings are in place, click Chew button to begin the required process.
We have added some Windows sample pictures along with other hefty snapshots. It promptly shrank the images as per requirements. Glance at the comparison of image sizes in screenshot below where we resized to create thumbnails.
This nifty little utility comes in handy especially when you’re dealing with long list of enormous sized images and need to shrink them in one-go or need to enlarge small images. While testing we were satisfied with the speed & efficiency it showed.
It runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Testing was carried out on system running Windows 7 x86.
