Sometimes when you update the iTunes app, the related programs that interface with iTunes will stop working. This happens when iTunes fails to registry itself correctly as an COM object.
You will probably find the following error:
- System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast COM object of type
- ‘iTunesLib.iTunesAppClass’ to interface type ‘iTunesLib.IiTunes’.
iTunes COM Fix is a small app which will quickly register the new executables as a COM object. Now every app that works using the iTunes API will start working again without having to reinstall anything.
It is a portable app so there is nothing to install, just run it and hit Fix iTunes.
It works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Both 32-bit and 64-bit OS are supported. Enjoy!
