Folder Monitor is a small utility that will run in the background and keep tabs on user specified folders, generating alerts when certain actions are performed within these locations. It will alert the user when something is changed, added, removed, renamed, deleted, or modified within the monitored directories.
The tool runs in the system tray and actively monitors the specified folders. Right-clicking the tray icon will allow the user to check for updates and access options, where you can select the triggers that will prompt notifications, and choose the kind of notification. Folder Monitor also allows execution of custom commands on notification triggers. Actions monitored are creation of new content, change and rename of existing content, and deletion within the folder. Notifications are displayed as pop-ups and will show the kind of action performed, type of file, time, etc.
Folder Monitor allows monitoring of shared network locations as well, and if network connection is lost, the software will attempt to re-establish it.
This tool is portable and uses almost 11 MB of available RAM. It requires .NET Framework 3.5 or later to work, and works with all versions of Windows, including the latest Windows 7.
