(1)First of all you can simply hold the windows key + R to bring up the command line window. This method is the easiest and works in both Windows Vista and Windows XP.

(2) For this method, right-click on the Taskbar, and choose Properties, now select the Start Menu tab
With Start menu checkbox selected, click the Customize button, Scroll down until you see the option named Run command, Enable the Run command checkbox

hi i tried two methods.. windowskey+R, and startmenu>customize> no run command.. what to do please..? did u get any any thing?

for some reason my window vista takes it upon itself to freeze after a while, when it gets like this internet explorer lags really bad.When i go to the main folder and try to open a folder it appears as if its trying to open many times.

I followed the directions for the 2nd method as well and no “Run…” option appeared in my start menu. Try restarting your computer after you’ve followed all directions above for the 2nd method. Then your “Run…” command should show up in the start menu. It worked for me.
