iTunes 9 is out, but there is one feature that is long missing from every version of iTunes – Support for Lyrics. Every time a person listens to a song, he/she wishes to read the Lyrics too. But since there is no support for Lyrics in iTunes, one has to Google it. We covered a way to download lyrics from LyricsWiki, but as it turns out LyricsWiki is dead.
If you want to search for lyrics of multiple songs, it can become quite annoying to Google it every now and then. This is where LyricToy comes in. It is a small portable utility that detects the song which is playing in iTunes by syncing with it. Once the song is detected, hit the Search button and it will display the lyrics in a new browser window.
You can set the engine to either LyricsWiki or Google. But since LyricsWiki is dead, it searches for the song in Lyrics.Wiki instead. The developer forgot to change the name from LyricsWiki to Lyrics.Wiki.
Overall, it is an excellent utility which saves lots of time. Apart from the small correction that is needed as mentioned above, it is a great tool that every iTunes user should try.
It works on all versions of Windows, including the latest Windows 7 as long as iTunes is installed. Enjoy!
